“Lovely to pop into Hancocks cafe is morning for a late coffee and treat. The cafe was quite busy, however the staff were still super friendly and greeted me right away. “WOW, my 3rd visit to this establishment for celebrating birthdays and today a MOTHERS DAY high tea experience! This was outstanding, the wait staff really looked after our table despite the cheek I gave them all. The place settings and tea selection was first class, then came the delicious high tea style food plus hot savouries absolutely amazing and super delicious we managed to eat everything presented! After our feasting we all went for a stroll around the beautiful property, fantastic a wonderful place for wedding photo shoot! Oh and the venue of course. Thank you for the most enjoyable trouble free MOTHERS DAY celebration! No dishes or cleaning up required! “I came from Australia and had visited couple of cafes and restaurants but Olaf’s experience was unique. The coffee and food is really tasty and amazing. The whole staff was so kind to me. I would say it is the best cafe in the town so far I have visited yet. The bread was fresh and delicious. The seating and outside view is also very good. Must visit with your family.”

“Had an absolutely amazing experience here! My partner and I have been travelling around and both wish we would’ve found this place earlier, before leaving Auckland! We went there for breakfast twice, and the food (egg Benedict & bacon and tomato bagel) as well as coffee (I had both iced and normal flat white coffees) was amazing! “Surprising night in Habibi Cafe, I live 45 minutes away from the city, it’s the only cafe/shisha open 24/7, came to buy some tobacco, the owner generously asked if I would like to join him smoking, with out hesitation I said YES, staff are very nice and welcoming, recommend 110% Will be coming more often. “Came here for lunch the other day with a friend and I'm so glad I did. The workers were so friendly and polite, the food had big portions and were delicious. Star of the show was definitely the cake they sell. We got a slice of the green tea layered cake, the mango layered cake, and chocolate cheesecake. With the green tea crepe cake, they let the green tea be the main flavour, and not sugar which I often find a problem other cafes can't perfect. The mango layered cake had fresh mango layered between the crepes, and was both refreshing and sweet. Lastly, the chocolate cheesecake suprized me with how well they made such a simple concept so rich with flavour. Often, I find cafés make chocolate flavoured deserts to sweet, but they had a perfect balance of sweetness with the richness of the overall dessert. Overall, me and my friend definitely recommend this café to everyone, especially since they're open for many hours of the day!”

The inclusion of a played video further enhances the experience, providing a dynamic and informative insight into this significant Auckland landmark. It's a wonderful spot to enjoy a beverage and soak in a bit of local history. I would highly recommend coming here during when you visit Maungawhau. Make sure to check their opening hours.”

“Best breakfast i have had in awhile at a cafe. Im the kind of gal that loves baked beans, mushrooms and hash browns. The hash brown tower was excellent and worth every dollar especially for the portion size. Coffees were very good and the customer service is very friendly. “We went there for breakfast as it was the only one opened at the time. The menu offers a lot of dishes cooked French style, which is quite different compared to the ordinary cafes. There are also jams, croissant and other baked goods for sale, both fresh and frozen. Very nice seating as well.”

“Excellent service on Mothers day where we enjoyed a filling, value for money menu in a friendly customer focused atmosphere. We ate inside where we were able to order off a varied menu. We ordered the benediction breakfast, and the big breakfast. Both were flavourful, with generous portions. The coffee was hot, and well made, in fact we ordered another at the end of our meal, taking our time to catch up without feeling rushed. We met Shaheen the owners wife who was checking to see that we were okay. Thank you to the chef, barista, and welcoming staff who made my mother's day very special.”

The “Eggs Benedict” is hands down one of the best we've had, perfectly poached eggs with just the right balance of richness and flavour. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it feel like a cozy local gem. The hospitality is second to none — the staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely care about your dining experience. Special shoutout to Chef Sarath — his creativity and precision in the kitchen are nothing short of magical. Every dish he prepares shows true passion and love for food, and it's a big part of why we keep coming back. Sticky Fingers Cafe has become one of our favourite spots in town, and we’ll definitely continue to come back for more!”

“As others have noted, this cafe is spacious and you can have your conversation in private. A good selection of cabinet food and prices for cooked food are reasonable. Our cheese scone was big so we halved it. We washed it down with a delicious hot choc and flat white.”
