This is a nice place, great seating, super friendly service. The flat white is good, not very good or excellent but still good.
Fantastic food! Very “French” atmosphere. Go where locals are going they say. You wont be wrong with So French Cafe
Loved that the chef was actually French. The food looked stunning and tasted pretty good. I had the chicken pie, which was beautifully presented and reminded me of France, while my sidekick had the beef, and I tasted that too; it was delicious. The only thing letting this place down was the heat, and the decor looked more NZ than French. I think the large windows being able to open would be better for both airflow and aesthetics! Overall a pretty good experience. There weren't really any gluten-free options.
I had big breakfast $30. Very filling and tasty. Not completely sold on the egg ramekin..... but it was OK. Wife had croissant $12. Very tasty, top notch. Coffee is good too. Lovely staff. Recommended.
We visited the place when they were not busy. The food we ordered came out without chicken added. When we asked to check, we had an impression that they had actually intended and were anticipating it. They were not even surprised and said they would brung them over. We were not impressed by their attitude that is disguised kindness but disrespectful. Feeling sad that this kind of attitude may contribute to decreasing the lovely and nice value of NZ and French culture.
We went there for breakfast as it was the only one opened at the time. The menu offers a lot of dishes cooked French style, which is quite different compared to the ordinary cafes. There are also jams, croissant and other baked goods for sale, both fresh and frozen. Very nice seating as well.
