   Fish wasn't too bad, chips looked like they were almost burnt from oil not being changed. More value elsewhere imo.

   This fish n chip shop was my favourite, and rated it the best in west Auckland. But the quality of the lettuce is really poor when I took a bite of the burger, it tasted off. I also bought a scoop of chips tasted as if they added lemon juice on it ,could taste the bitterness on most of the chips.

   Remember the good ole days where on a Friday, you'll pick up fish and chips from your local takeaway shop? This is one of those places. Run by a lovely Asian couple, we came around in the evenings after braving 40 minutes of traffic to get their fish and chips. From the looks of it, they maybe sell fresh fish during the day but the metal and glass cabinets were empty come the evening. Menus are printed and handwritten in chalk on the wall. From the looks of it, they're usually busy out back cooking so when you come in, tap the old school bell on the counter top and the gentleman comes out to serve you pretty quickly. There is an old dilapidated couch in the waiting area, reminiscent of one of those couches that you would crash on your friend's place while hanging out or after a night of booze. And also the quintessential picture/diagram of different fish hanging on the wall. Food was pretty darn good, although our bad for the long drive home and the chips becoming a bit soggy. Batter was seasoned well (along with the fish), was not overly battered, and the fish was cooked well and flaked when broken apart. Chips were also seasoned nicely, not dumped on with salt and you could taste the potatoes through it. Good place, wish it was a bit closer so I could call it my local!

   Blockhouse Bay Fisheries offers a fantastic dining experience with great food that is both delicious and affordable. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is inviting, and the portions are generous. Highly recommended!

   Great fish and chip shop, I’m a regular here and the prices have understandably increased. Service is pretty cut and dry. And the food has a tendency to be a bit oily. But flavor wise I have never been let down.

   Good standard fish and chips. Really good prices. Lemon pepper comes standard on fish, so if you don't like that ask for no lemon pepper. They do crumbed fish for 80c extra, and a decent pineapple fritter. Honestly prices are good, it's like they haven't heard of inflation.

   Sadly we have noticed a change and not for the better, oily fish, less than a teaspoon of sauce per burger and hotdog and $6 chips Is ridiculous... More like $2-$3 chips. Customer service is pretty bad too, We are looking for a new local unfortunately.

   Great fish and chips, affordable price. The batter is just perfect, crunchy and not too thick. Fresh made when you order and the fish always taste fresh. It's a family owned business and we love to support local business, much better value for money than other fast food options.
