Great place to eat and relax. We had the whole restaurant booked for a function and had a set menu. Superb from start to finish, good range of beer tasters too! Really enjoyed the experience and would definitely visit again if I was in Auckland. Highly recommended

Absolutely awesome!!! Went Saturday night, whilst no steak on the menu, Saturday night is steak night. There's a $25 rump and chips, or a $50 300g Angus Sirloin which was DELICIOUS!! Great venue, great staff, great service and didn't break the bank. Highly recommend!

Look. If you want to feel looked after and have a good feed come here. The staff are excellent and the food is delicious, second time being here and itβs still as good as the first time. I came back the second time because I knew that this place would be outstanding. I made good memories here with friends. Not gonna lie, this will be the worst part about leaving NZ. So if you come to Auckland and donβt want delicious food and a relaxing atmosphere to have a few pints in, aswell as be treated so bloody well by the staff. Go somewhere else.

Came in for a quick lunch. My partner ordered the fish and chips with mushy peas Gluten free and I had the pork tacos, beef brisket lollipops and the chips. Atmosphere was nice and chill. Quiet for a Saturday lunch time but there was a lot going on outside. Service was quick and easy. The server helped my partner who had a bee sting which was much appreciated. Food came out fast and was temperature hot. The chips were the best thick cut pub chips Iβve had in a while. Good amount of salt and perfect amount of aioli. The fish was cooked well and wasnβt dry. The brisket lollipops had great seasoning and flavours were sweet and fragrant. The corn tortillas on the tacos did fall apart more than Iβd like but everything else for the taco was delicious. The salsa and mole were delicious with the pork. Havenβt had a bad meal at The Kestrel to date. Thanks team

Lovely place! We decided to get the $20 burger promotion and it was amazing. Burgers were tender and not too over the top. The man who served us was very friendly & we went during 3pm on a Wednesday which wasnβt all too busy. They have great menu promotions every now and then which isnβt too expensive

Very attentive wait staff, great location and ambience. I sat at one of the benches outside at first to catch the last of the afternoon sun and whilst I waited for my mate. Eventually moved inside when it was time to eat as it got a tad chilly for me. The booth was nice and comfortable and the fish tank was quite interesting (and would be a good distraction if you're on a bad date). My mate and I ordered the duck and pork sausage roll, chips, croquettes, fried chicken and CC and dry. I really liked everything except the portion of the sausage roll - it needed to be larger and baked to order. Once it arrived on our table it was warm for a minute then went cold real quick. Highlights for me were the croquettes and chips (love a chunky chip and they're hard to come by I've noticed) and would totally order these again. The croquettes had a yummy, interesting flavour and texture. Fried chicken was a bit dry and could have been juicier but the flavour was decent - brace yourself for the sauce if you're sensitive to heat. I liked the heat as it adds a layer of flavour but isn't over the top. I'll be going back for sure and looking forward to trying the fish and chips next time! Am hoping they'll make it crumbed... Well crumbed fish wasn't an option :o( not a fan of battered fish and chips as the batter is always too thick. This one also had no actual taste to it either. I really liked the chips, tartare and lemon that came with it though. Went with the apple crumble sundae for dessert which wasn't that great. Apple was too chunky for a parfait glass so tricky to navigate. I was expecting it to come in a bowl with a better quality ice cream. A hot apple pie with vanilla bean ice cream would've been a winner.
