“Wonderful hotel in a perfect location. The rooms are extremely comfortable in the pool. Deck is very modern and beautiful. We had to catch a late flight and they were super accommodating and allowed us to stay at the hotel until 2:00 p.m. for no extra charge.”
“Small little musuem dedicated to the history, maintenance and restoration of the much loved Wellington Cable car. Free entry. A lift available to get between the two floors for guests with mobility needs .”
“Did the Meerkat Close Encounter and was incredible. Such an interactive experience with very knowledgeable keepers. A great zoo to support which contributes to conservation efforts and animal well-being.”
“Absolutely fantastic experience. The feeling of freedom when you liftoff is exhilarating .”
“amazing spot, it is the entrance to red rocks, a great spot for various trails, hikes which you can walk, jog, run. highly recommend if you are wanting a good nature spot in Wellington.”
“Great prices for good organic fair trade coffee! Nice personal and great little container coffee shop. Can recommend!”
“A typically wet and cool day, the gardens are a stop I'll be back for. The museum and food well worth the stop. Keep an eye out for pickpockets, nearly broke the toes of a dude trying to steal my gopro. They operate in pairs/groups. Only place in my entire trip I ran into this.”
“Beautiful and serene for a relaxing yoga and medication area. Highly recommended”
“The famous Wellington Sign is a must-stop when touring Wellington and surrounding areas. It has an interesting history of the changes made to showcase sports and other events over time. Yes, recommended.”
“Tom, Kate and the Team are amazing and this Cafe is extremely well worth a visit. Friendly service and great food. If you like mushrooms you will love them here.”
“Tons of great information and the awesome ladies at the desk were incredibly helpful! They can help you book tours and lodgings and they will work to help you plan free of charge! Highly recommend for anyone looking for things to do and places to go in NZ”
“This place is fun and the staff were great, but be warned the male female toilets aren't labelled well and it's easy to walk into the wrong one (especially when drunk)”
“Very helpful young guy at tye counter. He pointed me to what I needed. All good”
“Easy to find. Covered bus seat waiting area.”
“Kilbirnie Park is a versatile and well-maintained green space in Wellington, perfect for both recreational activities and community events. The park boasts spacious fields that cater to a wide range of sports, including rugby, soccer, and cricket. These fields are regularly used by local clubs, schools, and casual players, making it a hub for sports enthusiasts of all ages. The park also includes an athletics track, which is ideal for runners and athletes looking to train. One of the standout features of Kilbirnie Park is its family-friendly environment. There’s a well-equipped playground that’s perfect for younger children, offering a safe and fun space for them to play. The park’s wide-open spaces also make it a great spot for picnics or leisurely walks. It’s dog-friendly, so many locals enjoy taking their pets for a stroll. The park’s location is very convenient, being close to Kilbirnie’s shopping area, bus routes, and other amenities. The nearby Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre is an added bonus for those looking to swim or relax after some outdoor activity. While the park is generally well-maintained, the fields can become a bit muddy during the rainy season. Overall, Kilbirnie Park is a fantastic community asset, offering something for everyone—whether you're there for sports, family time, or simply enjoying the outdoors.”
“The staff were so helpful and organized an upgrade that we weren't able to get online. Throughout our stay the service was outstanding from all the staff. They were all so lovely and professional. They made us feel so special. The hotel is beautiful with lovely decor. Our room was really nice with a lovely view out over the city. And of course there is the chocolate hour! A few tips. It is worth paying a little bit more to get a room with a view. Where the hotel is is a bit isolated with no shops or restaurants nearby. It is worth paying to have your car parked there. We enjoyed just staying and eating at the hotel and only left once during our stay. The only low point was the bathroom door. Because it slid outside the door opening, there were huge gaps so you could hear everything!”
“We stumbled upon a cool little bar slightly off Courtenay Place in Wellington and ended up having such a fun night. We were drawn in because we heard some really good filler songs playing—these were the tracks they had on between the karaoke performances. We went in around 9 o’clock when karaoke was already going, and within an hour or two the place really came to life. It was such an amazing vibe with great music, a fun crowd, and plenty of energy. Definitely a memorable night out that happened by chance and turned into something awesome.”
“I originally came in one day with my friend we where abot worried as it was some of our first bars in wellington and we had a lovely night the staff where so incredible and its kept me coming back everytime, all the bartenders have been lovely and chatty to me as always as they do a great job at keeping younger women such as myself and my friends safe the duty managers often are running around and still servicing with a smile which is honestly amazing especially when it's so packed . The staff have made that place what it is, and it's a safe and great place to drink highly recommend.”
“Looks great and a great Park to enjoy with Whanau”
“My trusted shop, excellent selection of meat , wines and fruit”
“Great place good to see sport back on the rise after trying times”
“Everything from check in to check out was on point. Great friendly and helpful staff at the front desk. Helped us with our parking solution promptly and without any hassles. Great food and drinks from the bar, and the staff there were amazing as well. The cleaners kept the room immaculate during our stay. Would definitely stay there again without hesitation.”
“If you're a fan of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, then this tour is for you.”
“Overall very nice, as advertised. Cleaning is performed regularly and thoroughly. Quite close to the motorway and windows are single glazed so the noise is quite noticeable. Rooms are nicely furnished, Rooms are a little dated. Enjoyed my stay overall!”
“We have had driver John with us all week and he has been the best bus driver! Not only for his skilled driving but the 10/10 banter he has provided for our group of 50 (35 students & 15 adults) and his knowledge of the Wellington history. Would highly recommend requesting John as a driver if you’ve after a bus for a group!”
“Natalia is my travel agent at the Porirua location and I have to say she is AMAZING, on my last trip she called to surprise me with a great discount she had worked out with a tour company after I had accepted the price I would pay, she gave great advice that changed my whole trip! Introduced me to my now favourite tour company Intrepid, and puts chocolate in my flight Centre documents. She goes above and beyond. I highly recommended using her and this is exactly why I tell people to use travel agents those discounts and advice I could never get myself.”
“all the staff were very helpful for my simple inquiries cos i couldn't make any booking online with recently blocked debit card due to scam attempt. reasonable fees too so won't rip you off :)”
“Lovely wee park with a big history. This is the site of Broadcasting House, and although plans were already under way to have it demolished the building was destroyed by fire in September 1997 after 235 Radio New Zealand staff had moved to new premises in The Terrace in July 1997. Grand schemes to build a government "palace" on the site, or to shift the Beehive there, eventually fizzled and today the space is a sculpture park.”
“We send students to some unusual locations on scholarships to international schools. Jane organises their travel, and has saved us from travel disasters more times than I can count. She is gold.”
“4 of us enjoyed a most wonderful tour in and around Wellington with Anthony as our guide. Highly recommend this tour as Anthony really knows this town, knows the history and its flora. Good luck South Coast Shuttles. From a thankful Kiwi/Austrian”
