The hotel is located in the upper part of the city, and you have to walk over a kilometer to reach the city center. We decided to leave our car in the hotel parking lot. They recommended using an internal elevator that takes us directly to the base of the hill. We arrived around 4 pm, in time for hot chocolate hour. Chocolates, sliced fruit to dip into a chocolate fountain...perfect for those with a sweet tooth. The room though was small, and with the black curtains, it seems even smaller. It faces the back of the hotel next to the parking ramp. Perhaps the other side is better...we had requested a high floor, but instead they assigned us a room two floors below ground level. The hotel is on the hillside, but looking back at the parking access isn't pleasant. Dinner service was very slow. They also have a personal interpretation of the welcome vouchers. At other hotels in the same group, we were offered a welcome drink for the two people on the reservation with a single voucher. Here, however, the second person had to pay for the drink. A 5-star hotel should be more flexible with its silver guests. In the city group there are other hotels that are certainly more convenient to choose from.

Had two nights here for a girls weekend. We shared a single room, which was fine for two nights. Beds were comfortable and pillows were excellent. Our coffee machine didn’t work but there was instant coffee on offer. One downside, is the bathroom door is not soundproof and the door is only frosted so light comes through. We also were on the first floor and next to the gym which felt noisy with people coming and going early in the morning but it wasn’t too bad, obviously not specific to everyone room. Chocolate happy hour was great and the location is within close walking distance of everything. Parking felt a bit steep at $40 a night but it does save having to move the car or find alternative parking.

The staff were so helpful and organized an upgrade that we weren't able to get online. Throughout our stay the service was outstanding from all the staff. They were all so lovely and professional. They made us feel so special. The hotel is beautiful with lovely decor. Our room was really nice with a lovely view out over the city. And of course there is the chocolate hour! A few tips. It is worth paying a little bit more to get a room with a view. Where the hotel is is a bit isolated with no shops or restaurants nearby. It is worth paying to have your car parked there. We enjoyed just staying and eating at the hotel and only left once during our stay. The only low point was the bathroom door. Because it slid outside the door opening, there were huge gaps so you could hear everything!

We were staying for the weekend and had a lovely time. We really enjoyed the chocolate hour and the fantastic swimming pool and sauna. The rooms were very comfortable. The lift up from the street is really helpful! The staff were lovely and asked our neighbours in the interconnecting room to be quiet on our behalf. As they were chatting v loudly at midnight! Breakfast was packed with guests and the coffee machine didn't work, bit chaotic. However it was a tasty breakfast. It is a fun hotel and good value for money in Wellington.

The hotel itself is very modern and clean. All of the staff are so welcoming and helpful. The valet parking is easy to use and quick. It is a nice touch with the chocolates and cookies in the front reception, along with the chocolate hour. The room was very comfortable and a good size. The beds are comfortable and nice pillows. The bathroom is clean and well presented. I had a room with a shared door which I think affected the sound in the room as could hear the person next door and their tv. The location is in a good central area for shopping, however, it is a very cramped road but that seems to be an issue across the city really with tight roads.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel while we attended a conference. The staff were so lovely, we had a nice room, the pool/sauna was really fun. The chocolate hour was beautiful. Would definitely stay here again.

For a five start hotel… I wouldn’t personally rate it 5 star! We visited with our 4yr old and 9month.. Service was great, room was small and didn’t feature items advertised. Chocolate hour was quite under whelming. Buffet breakfast was good, great selection but not comparable to a 5 star hotel. Pool and gym, good! I think at best it’s a 3.5-4 star hotel. Personally, wouldn’t return.

Really nice luxurious hotel and the pricing was pretty good. The decor was really beautiful and grabbing a drink looking out over the city was nice. The aromatherapy shower scrub and moisturiser was to die for. Chocolate hour is fun. The only downside was trying to contact the reception via our mobiles. We called between reception and kitchen 6 to 8 times to ask a question and no one answered.

Absolutely adored our stay! The suite was perfectly sized (and the AC worked wonderfully). The room service was excellent. Chocolate happy hour was terrific - different choices each day and perfectly sized treats. But what was best was the staff. A++ service throughout - so helpful, friendly, informative, and welcoming. Loved our stay!

Hotel looks nice and food is pretty good. Rooms are small and quirky though (have to turn on main light to make the others work, waking up anyone sleeping), location is not great, and service is poor and disorganized.
