Recently I had the most wonderful textiles trip to India with ATI Travel. Every detail was covered from the very beginning. We were given so much information about the trip before we left that I felt very prepared. Still, nothing prepares you for the culture shock of India - it is absolutely amazing. We saw the most interesting textile artists creating the most beautiful things - truly wonderful. I found travelling in India with ATI and Joji so easy - everything was well organised and the food - the food was fabulous. l felt better eating Indian food than I do normally at home. I could not recommend ATI Travel and Joji Jacobs enough.

Our recent tour of India, organised by Joji and the crew at All Things Intriguing, proved to be absolutely amazing. Our interests - for history, architecture and wildlife - were all brilliantly catered for with all of the administrative details taken care of without being intrusive. A fantastic set of recommendations for accommodation, great tour guides for the major sights, transport laid on, and help through all the check-in/out and travel processes. We were blown away by how everything just came together, but still with a sense of not being constrained. We would definitely recommend, and look forward to our next trip organised by ATI.

The Threads of Tradition tour was wonderful. Meeting the artisans and seeing them create their beautiful work was a real privilege. The fabrics and textiles were just so lush and colourful, and the trip includes much more than that. Our walks in villages and small towns, strolling in markets watching craftspeople at work, visiting palaces and temples and walks in the countryside added a richness to the whole experience. Fabulous food - and accommodation that was both comfortable and full of character. I have travelled in India before but this felt personal - as if we were being taking to visit Joji's friends. I would do this trip again in a heartbeat.

We have just returned from a fantastic three weeks with Joji, on his Spirit of Rajasthan tour. It was our first visit to India, and both Joji and the tour lived up to our highest hopes. Everything was beautifully curated - each city, village, temple, palace had its unique character, and wandering town streets and markets with Joji always fascinating. We loved the spontaneity of the tour - if something unexpected but interesting presented itself, off we would go and explore. And Joji also considered our special interests - so we had the joy of seeing art such as the wonderful misty watercolours of Abanindranath Tagore and the exquisite miniatures of Prof Bireshwat Sen, and architecture by Le Corbusier and his Indian colleague Balakrishna Dossi.

Joji is an absolutely amazing tour operator to work with. He is very attentive to what you want out of your trip and will go out of his way to include those special experiences that make it that much more special. His wealth of knowledge of India is amazing and the personalised trip he designed for us was perfect! Everything ran like clockwork - from drivers picking us up from the airport, knowledgeable guides for our city tours and a mix of top end and local homestay accommodations. I would definitely recommend Joji to anyone wanting to explore the subcontinent.

I thoroughly endorse every sentiment of the review written by Misty Mountain. My husband and I enjoyed the Cultural and Textile tour in 2018 and although having travelled extensively and experienced 5 previous wonderful trips throughout India, this trip with Joji really provided a very special insight into what is an amazing country populated by incredible people. I sincerely hope for the opportunity to travel again with this unique, thoughtful, compassionate, knowledgeable and spontaneous little company, ATI Travel NZ. Don’t hesitate, if you wish to see India, go with Joji.

I travelled with ATI across the north of India in late 2018. The pruncupal focus was traditional textile arts, but there was a marvelous balance of exposure to other arts and traditional crafts ,music, design and architecture. The food and varied accommodations were excellent. Joji, ATI’s owner, led the tour and his genuine care for his clients as well as his deep knowledge of and love for India’s cultures, arts, food and people were always evident. While the itinerary was carefully planned, flexibility was part of its fabric, so we enjoyed several serendipitous adventures and meetings which were really enriching . I would say that ATI’s tours are designed for the curious and culturally sensitive, and its itineraries take you off the heavily beaten tourist oaths, and much further into the heart of india. Now that its tours are starting up again after the Covid hiatus, I am planning my next trip with the ATI crew as I cannot think of a better way of seeing India again.

Joji organised a 3 week private trip for two of us with a driver in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.we had a brilliant holiday with many fascinating places to visit including one β€˜off-the-beaten- track’ special experience. He organised excellent guides, beautiful hotels, and our driver was both respectful and entertaining. I would do it all again in a heartbeat. I would thoroughly recommend his services as tour organiser.

Participated in a small (6 person) group tour of India. Focus: textiles. It was amazing. The guides were knowledgeable, creative, kind, and adaptable. The schedule left plenty of time for structured activities as well as flexibility for free-time or changing the plan a little bit if an interesting discovery was made. We met amazing people on the journey (not just those who were on the tour with us, though they were great too!) and learned and experienced so much. I would recommend it to anyone and would do it again.
