“Typical dominoes with no issues from my first order there. Was made quickly, nice and hot and tasted great. There's quite a few other fast food/pizza restaurants right next door, so plenty of competition in the area.”

I was also told the school they go to and tell the school about these very respectful young men. However the food was bad to say the least, little amount of sauce and base was almost stale.”

“This is the best Sushi place in Pōneke! Amazing fresh options. If not made, you can request an 8pc of many types, something for everyone. Katsu bowl is tasty, large, very fresh, and great value (especially compared to competitors). They offer $10 off for every 10 stamps on a card (1 stamp= $10) so if you go frequently it is basically 10% off. Staff are extremely helpful, kind, and friendly. Would definitely recommend if you want to support a local business while getting amazinh service and a great deal for yourself too!”

“Finely crafted food and a great selection of umeshu from Japan. The contemporary styled Japanese inspired dining really worked well. One bite into each dish was delightful marriage of flavours. It is obvious to me the chef had put much thought and really crafted each dish to perfection, the delicious, umami flavours, tantalizing all the taste buds. But my highlight of the night had to be the maître d offering us some newly imported umeshu from Japanese at the end. The icing on the cake for a truly delightful dining experience”

“Dined at Oikos for the first time this evening, and we will definitely be back. We ordered a variety of dishes to share – the lamb shoulder was super tender, the chicken skewers were delicious, and the honey feta was lovely. The portion sizes aren’t massive, but this is the sort of restaurant you’d visit for the experience and the quality of flavours, rather than to leave feeling absolutely full. My only suggestions would be to provide salt and pepper on the tables and to consider offering some non-alcoholic wine options. Warm service and a lovely atmosphere – many thanks!”

“We tried this place a few weeks ago whilst travelling down to the South Island. We spent the next three weeks of our trip looking for another place with as good food and friendliness and couldn’t find it, so we just had to come back on our way driving to Auckland. “Great food and restaurant layout, and open Mondays, thank goodness. Tasty food, we did the "Fratelli Feast" (Mondays and Tuesdays) deal with an entrée to share, a main and dessert of your choice. Added extra sides of "Brussels sprouts" and "Garlic and truffle oil fries", they were delicious. Nice wine and lemonchello too. There are specials, we saw the pan fried fish which looked very good. The staff were friendly and attentive, we will come back again.”

“This place fulfilled my raging cravings for sushi and also do an impressive variety of hot dishes such as chicken katsu curry. The venue is super cute, tucked into Mahara Place and it warmed my heart to see they also sell mochi and bubble tea. Next time I will visit earlier in the day to capture all the varieties of sushi they have on offer, as I was quite late and a lot of things were understandably sold out. This place deserves 5 stars and regular business.”

“I hope they will go back to the menu they had when they first opened. Their original menu used to serve dishes that I only get to eat from high-end hotels. Not saying they don't serve good food now. Their menu now is completely fine. It maybe the basic set of rice bowls and noodle meals but still very authentic when it comes to taste. Maybe its not viable financially to have exotic Japanese dishes in Kapiti but it would be nice if there was at least 1 dish in the menu that would truly shine. Something that does not try to please everyone and is more loyal to the culture of Japan.”

“Went here for my birthday. Tried a few of the starters, such as garlic bread, bruschetta, 3 cheese arancini, and the Provolone al forno. All were really good, and i could eat an endless amount of the Provolone al forno. I got the carbonara, and was nice and creamy. Tiramisu for dessert was good too.”
