If you live nearby this is the best place for a lazy dip. So warm and shallow, great for teaching Billy to swim. There's a playground, toilets and plenty of parking.
Beautiful place. Great for whanau barbecues, children park, free outdoor gym, Maketu pies yum, and the fish and chips are to die for. This place is worth visiting.
Interesting market day on the day of calling Sunday pleasant spot to stop for a coffee or picnic lunch. Would I go back there ? Probably not a little too far off the main road.
Magical mighty Maketu Beautiful place, it holds a special place in my heart. Not overcrowded and great for fishing, pipi in estuary. Lovely playground.
Brief visit. Market Day. Wandered passed stalls. Noted fitness area and what looked like parking for freedom campers. Well maintained. Friendly locals. Great spot.
