“Went here the other day for a coffee and I can highly recommend it! I didn't get anything else, but all the food and treats looked tasty as - and price appear to be very reasonable.”
“Another great coffee find! Almond Breeze milk which is the tastiest, really reasonable prices with $5 sweets like slices, fresh cream donuts, custard sq, and savoury at $6 for quiches, sandwiches etc. Had a lovely mushroom and bacon quiche. A few indoor seats for 2 and a few street side, busy road tho so bit noisy outside. Great for takeaways. Even had the paper to read.”
“Really nice place and the combo coffee + scones starting from 8.30am is just perfect. Cakes and dessert are lovely I bought a few for family birthdays. But nice coffee and scones!! Combo coffee and scones no longer available. No WiFi available for guests I think that's a downturn also nowhere to charge your phone! Even kokodak nearby has few plugs customers can use. Not sure for me it's a downturn. I like going to cafes and work...”
“Absolutely adore this hidden gem and try to pop over from Whakatāne every few months. It's a treasure trove of secondhand books, spanking all genres. The owner has incredible knowledge and can help you find anything. Make sure you take an antihistamine (dusty for obvious reasons) and have a coffee before you arrive, as once you're here, you could easily spend hours perusing the shelves.”
“Love the coffee here, they do a mean coconut flat white and it is also the most reasonably priced coffee in town, if your in the area definitely recommend grabbing a takeaway”
“Incredible vegan food; got a salmon bagel which was so good; so many options so reasonably priced. Cute atmosphere too”
“My husband and I visited this cafe for the first time this weekend and were glad we did; the food was delicious, the coffee was good, and the presentation was beautifully done. We look forward to our next visit.”
“This place is my absolute fav. Delicious, fresh doughnuts and wonderful staff. Enjoy the changing flavours every month. It’s probably good that it’s only open Thursday to Saturday otherwise I’d be there every day.”
“Absolutely amazing café with delicious food and coffee. They are able to cater for dietary requirements as well such as glutenfree and vegetarian options.”
At Meltingpot Papamoa, the menu stays Japanese‑leaning with tidy execution. Broths and noodles keep good heat and snap. The team keeps things friendly and organised. Packaging keeps things in good shape to go.
“This place has such a good vibe. The owner and staff are so warm and friendly and the food is sensational. I had the chilli scrambled eggs today and it was an AMAZING dish. Coffee always epic. A fave spot for sure.”
“5 stars for all categories. The staff are lovely and greet you so warmly you feel like you’re a local from the get go. If the gnocchi is any indication on how the food is, you’re in for a 10/10 meal. It’s such a beautiful spot.”
“What a great café! Wonderful atmosphere, delicious and nutritious food options and excellent coffee. I chose the chicken sandwich which they toasted lightly for me. A long black and slice of heavenly Lime Coconut cake finished what was a delightful lunch! A blackboard menu for breakfast options is available alongside the well-stocked cabinet which offers salad and vegetarian selections as well. Friendly staff and a loyalty programme make this café a must when in Te Puke!”
“Stunning coffee, and walnut, apple and custard muffin. It's always a good visit here. Lovely service, fresh Kai, great coffee! 2nd pic is a coconut hot chocolateb for my friend. I might try that next time!”
“We had a great experience here. The food was delicious and tasted really good. They had really good service and treated us well!! We suggest stopping by if you are driving through.”
“The most magnificent little espresso bar right in the heart of Cherrywood. This place does the most amazing coffee and home-made food. The owners Perry and Preet Fightful and the Customer Service is exceptional. They put so much love and effort into everything they do. Would very highly recommend!”
“Super friendly staff, we had açai bowls with nut butter and two flat whites - everything was delicious, great coffee, big servings, spot on. Went back later in the day for a matcha latte and bliss ball and I feel GOOD. Also gluten free pretty much everything it seemed. Loved it”
“Love the selection of food and always friendly staff. Great coffee.”
“Fish jungle curry for me and chili chicken salad for her ... all delicious. Tucked away but plenty of parking. Is very popular so get in early or call ahead to avoid disappointment. The coffee is great too! Treat yourself - you deserve it!!”
“Come here on a rainy day. Staffs are friendly and vibe is chill. Avo toast made with avocado mousse is mind blowing!”
El Cartel leans into a coffee‑and‑cabinet approach without the fuss. Value feels fair for the quality. Eggs land on point and toast keeps its crunch. Serve sizes show solid value. Service stays presen...
“Amazing Cafe and such a great lay out. Barista was super friendly and a great coffee! Sterling Arnet Kakapo Business Sales”
“Shelley is absolutely amazing. Had the pleasure of purchasing a wetsuit, kids skateboard, scooter parts which Shelley kindly put together. If anything she doesn't have at store she always finds and orders in. Love supporting our local surf/skate/scooter store here in Papamoa and will always go to her. Can't recommend highly enough and worth our community support instead of online. Can't bet that personal touch.”
“Such a cool little mobile café. Blown away by the coffee, the classic ham and cheese toastie was absolutely fantastic.”
“The coolest coffee shop in BOP! Such cool staff topped with amazing food, beverage and beach view. Shout out to Lisa and Kalia for being legends!! Will definitely be back :)”
“Had a biscoff waffle and pumpkin pie latte. My son had apple cinnamon muffin. Lovely!!”
“Had a lovely lunch here today - my omelette was delicious as was the banoffee crepes my husband had and the French toast our daughter had. The coffee would be the best I’ve had in a very long time finally coffee served hot not lukewarm like at a lot of places. Lovely staff totally recommend Majestic Tea Bar. Will be back for sure”
“Super helpful staff when asking for advice on plants etc”
“We experienced this lovely Bakery when we delivered the leadlight door for repair last week. We decided then to return for a lunch (had coffee and scone/cake first time). Wonderful service, fantastic restful environment with some vintage radio from the historic village radio station. I had the wrap and the doughnut . Diane had 9also the doughnut) and what she described as being "fantastically light, delicious pie"”
“Great morning tea had by all - spinach feta roll, marmite school, cruffin, great food, great coffees, super friendly and attentive staff.”
