   We ended up here twice on our holiday to Papamoa. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is chill. I especially recommend it for breakfast, the thick slab bacon is divine.

   Had a fantastic breakfast at Pearl Kitchen this morning the waffles with bacon and maple syrup were absolute perfection the service was topnotch and the coastal views weren't bad either. Highly recommend for a delicious and satisfying breakfast in Tauranga 5/5 stars

   We are visiting Papamoa and went to this cafe last week and had a fabulous lunch. The best calamari I’ve ever tasted. Today we took friends back and the service was abysmal. We arrived at 12 got our drinks and at 12:30 had to ask a young waitress if they would take our order. She wasn’t particularly pleasant. At 12:45 my husband asked if we could have some water and we were told just wait we’ll get to it. And then at 1 pm we asked again for water and also if our food was going to be much longer. We were told that a staff member had gone home. I need to remind you that that is not our problem that is yours as an employer or manager and clients should be left out of that issue. When the calamari arrived it was thin, overcooked and dry. In addition the staff were not particularly pleasant at any time. Extremely disappointing that there should be such a vast difference in only one week. It’s unlikely we will be back.

   The best scrambled eggs and lemon and lime bitters ive ever had. Amazing food. My friends got a coffee and said it was amazing too. The only negative is nothing to do with the food or service, there’s just bad phone signal there.

   Fish jungle curry for me and chili chicken salad for her ... all delicious. Tucked away but plenty of parking. Is very popular so get in early or call ahead to avoid disappointment. The coffee is great too! Treat yourself - you deserve it!!

   Although Pearl Kitchen is only about 3km from home, regrettably I had not been there for over 3 years. I guess that is down to there being a few options locally. Had lunch there recently. Service was good. Food was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. The only downside was feeling rushed from an obvious rush to clean up, reorganise and close for the afternoon.

   I would come give it another chance, but I wasn't overly impressed given the rave reviews. One of the only places where no effort was put into the presentation for my coffee (just a blob of milk), and I found the waffle portion pretty small for the price. While that was nicely presented, the waffle and toppings were all kind of unpleasantly lukewarm instead of a hot waffle with cold or warm toppings. Cafe is loud and busy even in the early morning.
