“Chestnut Lane Cottage is a gem to stay in for your tour to Hobbiton. There are 233 perfect #5 ratings online and after we stayed it was easy to see why every guest was impressed. Starts with the superior service from the on-site owners and hosts, Kathleen and John. The cottage is spacious and cute too, with a private bedroom, ensuite bathroom and a open living area with kitchen. Fast WiFi, Sky TV, DVRs, and breakfast is included in the cottage with views of the fields and mountain. Quiet, clean, well equipped and delightful was our experience at Chestnut Lane. Did I mention the freshly baked scones or arrival? Kathleen is the kindest host ever and John is ready to help too! !”

The fire toasted the room up quickly and I enjoyed the bathtubs. Close to good vineyards as well. Kids played happily in the large garden and then we all went for a walk down to the river. Tom suggested we bring the kids to his farm as we left so they could collect the eggs. Quite possibly the best rental cottage in NZ.”

She absolutely loves it and it has been awesome to watch her confidence build since she started as well as listening to her sing the songs she's learned when she comes home. The staff are all fantastic, you can tell they are passionate about what they do and in caring for each child's individual needs. It always amazes me how calm and quiet the toddler room usually is and I feel this is a reflection of the great staff. They also helped hugely with my daughter's sleep and provided her cuddles and comfort with encouragement. Now she can go to sleep by herself :) Thank you!”

The cottage is charming, quaint, clean, reasonably priced and quiet and the hosts couldn't have been more helpful. We plan to go back again soon as there's the huge Factory shopping complex all in walking distance. It's a lovely spot even for a night's hideaway..”
