   Chestnut Lane Cottage is a gem to stay in for your tour to Hobbiton. There are 233 perfect #5 ratings online and after we stayed it was easy to see why every guest was impressed. Starts with the superior service from the on-site owners and hosts, Kathleen and John. The cottage is spacious and cute too, with a private bedroom, ensuite bathroom and a open living area with kitchen. Fast WiFi, Sky TV, DVRs, and breakfast is included in the cottage with views of the fields and mountain. Quiet, clean, well equipped and delightful was our experience at Chestnut Lane. Did I mention the freshly baked scones or arrival? Kathleen is the kindest host ever and John is ready to help too! !

   Absolute gem. It was a real pleasure to stay in the self contained, spotlessly clean, private, comfortable cottage with lovely rural views. The hosts are delightful and cater for your stay making it a truly memorable experience. Thoroughly recommend

   Everything is perfect. The hosts John and Kathleen are very kind and friendly. They provide very tasty breakfast and their home planting fruits. The only thing that you might regret was no way to stay longer because their rooms are often fully booked. Make sure to make your booking as earliest as you can or you will regret that!!

   Us outside this beautiful house where we stayed for the night of our anniversary and also the night we did the Hobbiton banquet dinner. We were absolutely spoiled and treated like VIPs. The customer service doesnt get any better than this accommodation. Kathleen is so lovely and will do just about anything to ensure you enjoy your stay. Highly recommend for anyone coming to this area. Would love to go back for longer next time. So close to Hobbiton too.

   Kathleen and John are the most amazing hosts you could ever hope for.. The accommodation was extremely comfortable.. Would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Matamata. Breakfast and the scones were absolutely amazing. Such a beautiful peaceful place to stay.
