“Good audio and room acoustics, I wish the lights could be a little bit dimmer. Thank you campus watch for looking out for me when I absolutely needing help trying to access Te Rangihīroa facility, because they were locked, etc.”
“Great school. Awesome learning inviroment”
“A secret library in Dunedin- not many people know about it. Has heaps of great books. Needs a good dust! Theatre at the back of the building is seperate from library”
“It's a undergrade students hostel. It has 37 apartments, each has 6 rooms. They are safe, warm and comfortable. Each apartment also has a kitchen / lounge area where residents socialise, relax and may prepare snack meals. For breakfast, there's a choice of cereals, breads, fruit and at least one hot dish every day. For lunch and dinner, there's a choice of mains with a vegetarian option always available. Fruit, vegetables, self-serve salads, desserts and a variety of drinks help to make meal times enjoyable and social occasions. Additionally, They provide so many things like bike-car parking, exercise room, laundry room and library too. This is the ideal place to live honestly.”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars are just not enough! Both of my boys (Irish twins, yes, two boys a year apart!) have been going to York Place since they were just 4 months old. And honestly? I don’t know who’s more attached to the place, me or them. Every day they come home a little more confident, curious, and covered in glitter. I don’t know what kind of sorcery the team uses, but whatever it is... it’s working! It’s a small nursery team with a huge heart. From the incredible Ella (who’s moved on but will always be part of our boys' early journey), to Sally who’s basically family now, always ready with a story, a laugh, or the perfect advice. Alice and Caitlyn are super-mums: they understand my concerns, actually listen, and play with the boys like they’re their own. Beth is magically on top of everything before I even notice, and Abbey (though a student teacher), is already a natural. The boys absolutely adore her. Every single teacher there is a superhero in disguise, full of kindness, patience, and love. Like, “how-do-they-stay-so-smiley-all-day” level. They’ve taught my boys manners, independence, how to share toys, and how to nap on schedule. (Still working on that one myself.) York Place is a place where my kids are happy, safe, and truly known. We feel so lucky to have them in our lives. Massive love to the entire York Place team! We honestly couldn’t imagine our parenting journey without you!”
“Good school in a good neighbourhood”
“Amazing dance school and teacher”
“Leslie receptionist and Simone a nurse from North Shore clinic are real gems, both of them are so welcoming, professional and efficient. I like their fees as well, most services are free for students and occasional low reasonable fees for vaccines. Highly recommend North Shore clinic, they have such a friendly and welcoming staff!”
“Rosehill intermediate is the best school ever... The teachers were awesome and they always cared and found a way to help you learn. Special shout out to Mr gadd who helped me with a lot and was my favourite teacher there. I would give anything to go back.”

“Great College with very good facilities and very welcoming and friendly teachers . The indoor Sports Centre facilities are very well organized and maintained. The same situation with the outdoor Sports grounds, including the 6 Astrograss tennis courts. Preaty " Central" location for the Eastern side of North Shore.”
“My time at G.E.I.S was a good one. The school had great facilities and was well funded. The teachers I had experience with were all competent and friendly. I see the school is constantly getting upgraded and improved so its definitely not run-down. Its great to have such a school in the community.”
“The right school for my son who is academic and not very sporty (in fact, he wanted a school that did not focus on sport). It's been a huge jump coming from a public primary school into ACG Parnell, but he has learned more in the last 6 months than in the 6 years prior. There is a lot of homework, but over time students learn how to efficiently manage this and there are tests almost every week, and exams from Year 7... but what a great preparation for university years. Finally, as a parent I can see what he's learning and where he needs extra help. If you want your kid to go to a school that focuses on academic learning and extension of students, then send them here. If you want your child to go to a school that will be focusing more on "inquiry learning" and "child led learning", then this is not the right school for them. This school provides lots of clubs and extracurricular activities too - and their music, art and drama departments are awesome.”
“INCREDIBLE SCHOOL AND MRS WINSLADE IS A BOSS. SHE WAS AWESOME.”
“As a student who comes to this school and writes with a genuine opinion, to whoever is reading this, especially parents, I can confirm to you that the previous 1-star reviews are absolutely baloney. I am just a student. I am currently at Macleans college and been here for a couple of years hence sharing my general opinion. I AM NOT part of any school administration that writes the review because they are biased. Firstly I see these reviews talking about "racism". In the real life, of course its going to exist. Someone will always judge you based on the way you look. But it doesn't mean that it isn't dealt with at this school. There are serious consequences for racism so all aside, its not an issue here at Macleans. Im not a white student either, but I haven't seen 1 teacher at this school, of all I have ever talked to been racist ONCE, ever. Secondly, I see them talking about "They only care about academics." Well its partly true. Your child deserves quality education and the school wants them to be successful in life and if you're not willing to learn or at least give a damn about learning for your own good, then don't blame the school for it. Teachers here actually do a reasonable job at shaping students into successful academics and you also have house tutoring systems and more if you find learning the stuff hard. Ungrateful students who choose to post these bad reviews simply don't realise the plentiful resources they have to become a sucessful student. Now I know that not everyone likes studying. At times, me neither, but the school offers more than academic education. It aims to support a student's goals, and also opens SO much extracurriculars and sports activities if your child is intrested in sports. The reason why I said academic focus is "partly true" is that the school is simply looking for a lot more than just academic excellence. With the wide variety of extracurriculars it also helps students develop skills and become involved with activities they enjoy in the future. Uniform. Theres heaters in classrooms during winter and you have a sweater. Everything else very self-explanatory. Bullying. Yes, sadly, it happens. The bullying obviously comes from students who are either stressed about their life / have something going on in their lives or they're just a prick who seeks attention. I also consider the factor that the stress often comes from the way the school runs, as its harsh academic focus and other aspects can sometimes impact the students. It is NOT easily ignored. The amount of guidance from groups like consuelling etc will support you if you are bullied, and it will also be dealt very seriously by the school. The strict rules and conservative approach actually cut the amount of bullying in this school. I have personally seen many students get stood down or even removed from the school for being stupid. Actually, in my first few years I didn't get along with people either. I was also emotionally impacted by bullying. However, the school helped me become the person I am today through guidance and support. I wasn't an academic nor sporty person either. I hated both. But through reflection and growth I finally understood, the school was trying to help me. It never intended to harm me in any way. And do not say "the school doesn't care about you", that is the most untrue, pathetic, and ungrateful statement I've heard. There are school counselling for a reason. If you are to the point that you actually think the school doesn't care about you at all you need some serious self-reflection. Macleans does a great job at shaping the students so that they have maturity, responsibility, empathy and more. All this, is part of high school. It strives to help your child become sucessful in life and supports their dreams e.g sports and even esports/gaming (if thats what they really want). The “students” who are writing those 1-star reviews are the ones who either have something against this school and have the maturity of a 5-year-old or just don't care about school and hate it.”
“A medium to small sized public coed high school. The students are all from local suburbs such as St Heliers. The teachers are experienced and committed. The students are talented, at least some.”
“Do not stand By my grave, and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep- I am the thousand winds that blow I am the diamond glints in snow I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle, autumn rain. As you awake with morning’s hush, I am the swift up-flinging rush Of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the day transcending soft night. Do not stand By my grave, and cry- I am not there. I did not die.”
“Our son went here and we found the school to be excellent. The principle and teachers are really committed to the kids and there's great support for any issues on a personal basis or in the wider school. We're sending our daughter here too, because we loved it so much.”
“100% one of the best schools in Auckland. Wonderful teachers who care about each child, and uphold the special character of the school. Having experienced another school, and then Star of the Sea, Star of the Sea is absolutely wonderful. A learning environment which offers every child the opportunity to be the best they can be.”
“needs more noodle flavours. And needs to be better at telling people about the volleyball sign ups.”
“love this school, I feel like I'm actually learning”

“It is with great pleasure that I write this review of Naenae College, an institution that embodies the values and principles that I hold so dear. As a pupil, I can say with confidence that this school is a shining example of excellence in all regards. The teaching staff at this school are exceptional individuals who are dedicated to the education and well-being of their pupils. They possess a wealth of knowledge and experience and are able to impart their wisdom with clarity and passion. The teachers understand that a good education is not just about imparting knowledge, but about building character and preparing young people for the challenges of life. The curriculum offered at this school is both comprehensive and challenging. It covers a broad range of subjects that are designed to stimulate the mind, encourage seeking truth from facts and equip students with the skills they need to succeed in a world of ever changing values. From the study of history and psychology, to mathematics and the sciences, to the arts and languages, students are encouraged to explore their interests and to challenge themselves in new and exciting ways like never before seen. The facilities at Naenae College are of the highest “MoE” standard, providing students with the resources they need to reach their full potential. From well-equipped classrooms, to state-of-the-art sporting facilities, everything has been designed to create an environment that is both conducive to learning and enjoyable to be in. Finally, the school community itself is a bold testament to the school's success. The students are well-mannered, diligent and eager to learn, while the parents and staff are supportive and committed to helping each pupil reach their full potential. I highly recommend the good school to anyone seeking a quality education for their children. It is an institution that embodies the values of discipline, hard work and a love of learning, and it provides students with the foundation they need to succeed in life. It is with great pride that I endorse this school and I have no doubt that it will continue to produce graduates who are well-equipped to make a positive impact on the world.”

“STAC is a good school. If I had to give it a star, it would a gold star, because it is so excellent. I live right next to it. It looks quite nice from the outside. Unfortunate that I don't have money so I cannot go inside.”
