I was not pressured into any heavy sales pitch, she knows about foot anatomy as well as the shoe science, she brought forward many options, and in the end, I was really glad we happened on Shoe Science, when we were, in fact, looking for the Skechers store. Very happy with the personal service here .”

After trying on shoes, they were customised with a shoe editing machine to get the perfect fit. I highly recommend their fantastic shop to friends, family and everyone else!”

“Great selection, including lots of 'smart casual' (nicer than sneakers but not overly dressy), which nobody else in Christchurch seems to stock any more. Really friendly service, guy was helpful but gives you enough space. I don't usually write reviews but Mikko impressed me and I'll definitely go back.”

“I just recently discovered this little gem of a shoe shop. I’m not a person that buys shoes often, however I purchased 3 pairs in the last several days from here. Amazing quality and reasonably priced not to mention fantastic looking shoes. The ladies who work there went above and beyond for me as I needed the shoes urgently and couldn’t travel to their shop. I definitely will become a person who will buy more shoes now that I have discovered this wonderful shoe store.”

“I cannot recommend Maxine and The Shoe Room enough! I live in Auckland and I emailed about about an in home shoe fitting for a wheelchair bound elderly relative in Christchurch. He also has medical issues with his swollen feet. After liaising about what was required, Maxine had ordered other styles to try, visited, fitted and ensured they were comfortable. She left my relative with information relating to the breaking in of the footwear. Maxine also sent me images of them on him. This has taken a lot of stress off myself and the relative! No normal shoe stores had the specialised requirements for him. THANK YOU Maxine for going over and above the lacklustre personal service that seems to be offered by most businesses these days.”

“Easily one of my favourite stores in NZ. Everyone’s always stocks fresh and individual picks, flattering styles and a mixture of brands that aren’t often found elsewhere. The buyer has a real eye for not only what’s in, but for flattering and classic pieces. Great range of men’s, women’s and everything in between and always supporting local creatives. Love the friendly staff too ❤️”
