“Culprit had been on our must-try list for a while, thanks to its reputation for contemporary New Zealand cuisine. We finally got the chance to experience it for our wedding anniversary dinner—and it did not disappoint! We opted for the seasonal menu with wine pairings and couldn’t resist adding a Culprit classic as well. Every bite was a delight. Truly loved it! The restaurant’s soft music, stylish décor, and gentle lighting created the perfect romantic and relaxing atmosphere. A big thank you to the professional and friendly staff who made our evening even more special. Keep up the amazing work! “This Japanese restaurant in Newmarket is such a delightful gem, offering you delicious menu with high quality ingredients with authentic flavours. The chef is amazing, she cooks succulent chicken with a healthy mix of tsukemono and options to choose purple rice. Even their miso soup comes with chopped tofu. They change their tsukemono on different days. So far the karaage chicken and teriyaki chicken are delicious, feels like a hearty Japanese home cooking. Give them a whirl — just across the Newmarket train station!”

“Great food and restaurant layout, and open Mondays, thank goodness. Tasty food, we did the "Fratelli Feast" (Mondays and Tuesdays) deal with an entrée to share, a main and dessert of your choice. Added extra sides of "Brussels sprouts" and "Garlic and truffle oil fries", they were delicious. Nice wine and lemonchello too. There are specials, we saw the pan fried fish which looked very good. The staff were friendly and attentive, we will come back again.”

“I have done this place a huge injustice by living in Hamilton for 10 years without knowing it existed!!! The interior resembles a real Italian trattoria, and the ambience is authentic. “A hidden gem that serves up some fantastic ramen and other dishes. Went here with my fiancée to grab some ramen and katsu after a long day of adventures and hikes. They are in a rather odd location, a warehouse district with no discerning signs of a restaurant in the heart of it. However if you have the drive it has definitely worth a stop. Staff is super friendly and dishes come out piping hot. Would just mention that there isn’t a ton of seating inside and outside so larger parties may run into some obstacles there. However a more intimate dinner date is easy.”
