For all the rave about this place, I was not that impressed. We got 2x battered onion sausages, fish, chips, can of sauce and a cheese burger. It was nice but I think the food is very overhyped. Its not bad though. Price was ok, not like the old days though. Approx $35.
What a hidden gem, best fish and chips we've had - the meat pattie was delicious along the blue cod.. Situated a short drive to John Wilson ocean drive the best view over the sea to eat it at.
Fish could have been crispier and the oil temperature wasn’t right as the fish was way too oily/greasy. The fish itself tasted fresh though. Chips were good
Was hungry after a day exploring town and wanted to top off the day with some tasty fish and chips. Takeaways on Marlow delivered the goods! Partner and I both had the cheeseburger and shared the battered fish and chips. Chips were served fresh - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, fish was flakey and delicious. Burgers were also great, soft buns and tasty meat patty with the perfect amount of cheese. Will definitely be back next time we come through Dunedin!
Zanda did a great job on front till. He was polite punctual and accurate. He also cared that people were not over ordering. We ordered the elephant fish, sole and Blue cod. Bloody good Fish and Chips. And the beach at St Kilda was a perfect place to eat them!! The burgers looked fantastic also
Undoubtedly, for me, the best fish n chips shop in Dunedin. I don’t eat fnc regularly but every time I have eaten, it’s been amazing. Chips - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Cod cooked to perfection and batter not too thick but perfectly crispy. Keep up the awesome work TAKEAWAYS ON MARLOW. Must try.
Best fish and chips we've had in years, the blue cod was amazing, I don't normally like fish and chip shop fish but we ate every piece, apparently our fish broke in half so he gave us an extra piece. Service was great, we waited in our car and he said he would bring it out to us, top man seemed to love his job. We will definitely be back.
Chips were nice and a generous helping. Will try asking for extra crispy next time. Blue cod portion smaller than expected and dry. Not worth splashing out on. Staff friendly and service was quick. Nice place for basic fish and chips and I love the look of the burgers.
First time for me today as I live in West Harbour. Has to be the best fish burger I've had. This is a gem tucked away from the main stream and quality and portion size is just the best. Reminds me of the old days when you got value for money. Highly recommended.
