   This Japanese restaurant in Newmarket is such a delightful gem, offering you delicious menu with high quality ingredients with authentic flavours. The chef is amazing, she cooks succulent chicken with a healthy mix of tsukemono and options to choose purple rice. Even their miso soup comes with chopped tofu. They change their tsukemono on different days. So far the karaage chicken and teriyaki chicken are delicious, feels like a hearty Japanese home cooking. Give them a whirl — just across the Newmarket train station!

   Great number of choices for vegetarians, which is always appreciated. We tried all the different style tofu bento boxes, and they were delicious! Good value and highly recommended for those who enjoy well prepared and cooked bento and donburi.

   I’ve ordered from Kurozen a few times on Uber Eats before but finally got to try them in person. I got the Teriyaki Salmon Bento and a side of Takoyaki. Firstly there’s complimentary miso soup. Secondly the takoyaki have a good portion of octopus and are just really juicy and satisfying to eat. The teriyaki salmon was seasoned well and a bit crispy, just super delicious. I like the sides that come with the bento, it feels like a good wholesome meal. The servers were kind and service was pretty quick. Overall I’d definitely come again and I highly recommend the teriyaki salmon!

   Super kawaii shop! Complimentary genmai cha (roasted rice tea). We enjoyed the taro balls, salmon sashimi, and a pork belly bento box. Lots of interesting bits and pieces in the bento, which came with miso. Traditional Japanese flavors. Friendly staff.

   On a Tuesday afternoon, I strolled in this quaint little place. There was a huge variety of common Japanese side dishes including all sorts of pickles, salads and so on. When ordering my bento, I could choose between white or purple rice(with a mix of grains). The bento was finished in 3-5 minutes. The food tasted quite healthy and felt like a slice of homemade Japanese food. There’s free wifi as well. The balance between the main/side dishes/rice was perfect— I finished everything. The free genmaicha looks exactly as it would in Japan. The owners are Japanese. Worth the cost if you’re into authenticity and a relaxing time. Very very quiet.

   Finally Newmarket have genuine Japanese eatery where I had authentic Katsu-Don and Japanese Style Mashed Potato Salad, also good portion of Salmon Sashimi. There are variety of choices available, and most of all staff are really friendly and taste is absolutely amazing. Highly recommended.
