“just tried the new special, Egg Benedict on Cheese Scone!!! The flavour was so good and the price was fair. The music was so relaxing as well and made me stay here for way longer than i expected. Workers were also really funny and nice to talk to! Definitely recommend”
“This is probably one of my go-to Italian spots in NewMarket. The staff are incredibly friendly and super helpful at recommending dishes to try. The food is always super fresh and flavoursome, and the great atmosphere really adds to the overall experience. The price point is average for the city, but with the quality of the ingredients I would definately say it's good value for money.”
“Absolutely delicious dinner and a dedicated gluten free menu!! 10/10 must visit. (A little bit more whipped feta dip with the polenta chips would be A1!)”
“The easiest 5 stars I have ever given. Our jaws dropped upon seeing and tasting both our mains (lamb rump and pork belly) and desserts (apple crumble and brownie sundae). The food and service far exceeded our expectations. Empire Tavern is part of the Star Group, and you can get great deals like the Monday 2for1 mains we used simply by downloading their app. However, my friend and I would happily pay full price for these mains in future, and we decided to order dessert based on their quality and were so glad we did. I can't think of a single thing that could be improved. Thank you to the waitstaff and kitchen team who made our night one to remember and hopefully repeat again soon! Everyone should try this surprising gem in the CBD, which had a lovely positive and peaceful vibe on a Monday evening and no doubt has something great to offer any night of the week.”
“What a wonderful cafe. Coffee and food, both amazing. So friendly and accommodating. Thank you! Atmosphere is a great start to our day. Will definitely come again.”
“Exceptional quality and value for money. Staff were friendly and good was prepared fresh. I deconstructed the chicken burger, it was amazing.”
“We had such a great brunch here last weekend. The coffee was excellent—rich, smooth, and easily one of the best I’ve had in the city. Their oat-milk hot chocolate was amazing too, and the Super Avocado was definitely a standout. I also loved the café’s aesthetic, especially the fresh flowers on the tables. The staff were warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.”
“The best dog-friendly cafe in Mt Eden. Great coffee, outside on the historic verandah if dining in, or delivered to the carpark by the friendly service team, along with mobile eftpos so you don't have to tie up your dog to go inside. There are free little dog biscuits on the verandah too. The staff could not be friendlier. Thank you to the Altar team.”
“Queenies has a lovely cozy energy, staff were kind and welcoming, and the prawn spaghetti had the perfect kick for a cold winter’s afternoon. My friends and I are already planning our next brunch date there, thank you!”
“It was so nice I had to go back TWICE. Could not recommend more - I’ll be back for more of their blends and that life changing HASHBROWN.”
“Breakfast was delicious! And we love the outdoor Cafe dining experience. I had the SEB bagel breakfast and my companion had the brioche French toast.”
“Had lunch here over the weekend with our two little boys, the staff are so friendly, went out of their way to help us move when it started raining and super friendly to us and our boys. The food is amazing too! The Korean chicken was our fave. Highly recommend this place has the perks of being in the city without the hustle and bustle of pedestrians walking past.”
“Amazing customer service for our small group today & the food was fresh, plenty of & super delicious. We were so pleased to find a lovely airy cafe in this heat, where we could talk and have plenty of space to enjoy it all. We will be back.”
“High streets best kept secret! Visit on a sunny day for a beautiful outdoor escape or a rainy one for a cozy coffee (the heaters / cover work wonders). Coffee and service is always 10/10, and the Bacon Benedict is always hits the spot. Love that they also support local businesses as well. Definitely visit if you’re looking for a cheap and cheerful brunch spot in the CBD.”
“Consistently the best Coffee I can find in the CBD. Service is top tier. Food is really good. Atmosphere is great, it’s busy, bustling, and they have an on to it team, who always make you feel welcome. But the star of the show is absolutely the coffee. Recommend.”
“This is an excellent place to buy plants. They have so many and all are given the best tlc. And if you’re hungry the food and coffee at their cafe are very satisfactory. Highly recommend.”
“Beautifully presented avocado on toast. Good coffee. Pleasant staff. Fair prices. Most importantly, theyre accommodating to small, friendly dogs, meaning I can go there without worrying about my little puppy.”
“Skinny sexy fries, iced choc, big fat sunday brekkie 10/10”
“We dropped in for a quick takeaway and as usual it was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. As we waited for our takeaways, a lovely staff handed us a glass of water which is an awesome gesture. We have dined in several times and we never had any negative feedback to provide. Lots on the menu to choose as well as your usual pastries and sweet desserts. Our favourite is the seafood casserole! Very rich and if given the chance, I would lick the bowl! Parking can be tricky as there are only a few on the street and several others by the side. Best to book if you do visit on the weekend or just wait as the turnover is pretty quick.”
“The coffee and matcha are lovely, and I had a salmon toast that was perfect, with store made grains and nuts bread! The croissants were large and fluffy, we had the plain and the almond. The English muffin breakfast sandwich was delicious. The service was friendly and fast, while they were quite busy. Our large group sat at the only large table, but there is planty of seating inside. They havebread, milk, a few wines, and pottery for sale. Highly recommend!”
“Incredibly friendly staff and delicious food at terrific value. We ordered quite a spread to try out a few different things. The portions were very generous and well priced. The basil aioli is absolutely wonderful! It's the little things. Very comfortable environment too. Loved the place. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in the area!”
“Me and my family come by every so often. The food is always good and the staff are lovely. They've got a good range of drinks and desserts as well, although for the most part we stick to the dinner menu. Highly Recommend”
“Absolutely loved our visit here! I was down from Palmy visiting my son and he took me here for lunch. We were acknowledged as soon as we walked in the door — such friendly, genuine service. The staff went above and beyond and made us feel right at home. A special shout out to Piney who served us. She was the most beautiful, friendly and bubbly young lady. A real credit to Caffiend Cafe. The food was delicious — fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully served. You can tell there’s real care behind everything they do. A real gem. Can’t wait to come back!”
“Great first visit to Revive! Had the smoked fish kedgeree and was thoroughly impressed. They were very generous with the amount of fish, the egg was runny and perfectly poached and the rice was creamy and lightly spiced. Great balance of textures and flavours- the squeeze of lemon really pulled everything together! Staff were friendly and efficient even though we went during a very busy time. Clearly very good at what they do. Great vibe inside- very modern and clean. They had the doors open so good temperature. Definitely visit if you are considering it!”
“Super cool space that you would never know existed above the storefront. We ate too quickly to take photos, but had the Thai beef salad, big breakfast, and the standard two egg plate. My son had a salted caramel milkshake that he said was wonderful. They have a full soda bar and coffee bar along with amazing pastries. It’s a little loud inside. The view is absolutely amazing even on this cloudy day. This is a fun place to eat with great food!”
“Unreal brunch spot, chicken cheese melt reminds me of prime Fortnite days, simply perfection. Never been more of a brunch man than I am right now. Top stuff”
“We went here only once, during our quest to try all 100% vegan spots in Christchurch, but definitely not because of the food or coffee quality. In fact, the breakfast we had, (Pancakes and Big Brekky) was absolutely delicious. The coffee was flawless, too! I wish we would have had more time to try the asian dishes, as well. Next time!:)”
“Pies are full of real food. $10 for a plain mince but very tasty. Also got some sweet treats. Beautiful taste, spoilt for choice. Thanking Sheffield Pies for their response: Just to clarify, our items were 'rounded' up so my apologies for not specifying the correct price per item. Thank you for doing so. I hope this hasn't been taken in the wrong light but just as an aside, I should have got another pie! They were delicious.”
“A very unique café with an internal garden that creates a small indoor sanctuary. There’s also a designer clothing store right next to it, adding to the charm. You’ll need to book in advance if you want a good spot, as it can get quite busy on weekends. I’ll try to come early next time to fully enjoy the atmosphere. The coffee was decent.”
“We went out to a recommended restaurant for dinner, and the experience was wonderful. The waitress was exceptionally warm, gentle, and welcoming. The dishes take some time to be served since everything is prepared fresh, but it is absolutely worth the wait. For starters, we ordered: – Smoked Burrata with strawberries – beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. – Wild Mushroom Gyoza, served with sesame sauce, chili oil, and an Asian-style salad. An excellent dish, with perfectly steamed dumplings. For the main courses, which are the restaurant’s signature dishes: 1. Fish of the day – salmon, served tender, delicate, and absolutely delicious. 2. Braised Beef Cheek – slow-cooked with miso and sweet potato purée. The dishes were outstanding, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. There is both visual elegance and exceptional taste in every plate. Of course, we couldn’t leave without dessert. We ordered the pudding, which is their signature dessert, and it was excellent as well. We enjoyed the meal so much that we will definitely return to enjoy this wonderful food again, clearly prepared with great care and passion by the chef.”
