Seems like a family run business. The staff were friendly and served us with hot Chinese tea and soup. We didn’t order the roast pork or chicken as these seem to be their popular eats. We went for the sin chow fried noodles and beef kway tiao with egg. The latter was less of our taste bud because of our own expectation on how it should be made. However generally good food.

The fish salt and pepper is really crispy and the flat fry noodle is really nice. The food Is really nice however the shop ventilation is not good. After dinning in your body can smell the food.

Wow! Simply stunning!! One of the best roast duck I've had! Can't believe I could find such a delicious roast duck during my short stay in Auckland. Service was friendly and the manager/owner (male) was fun to talk to. Glad that we dined in here. Loved the old school decoration !Thanks bbq king!!! - Elaine

Firstly, these guys offer those super tasty Cantonese/Hong Kong flavours - not the less satisfying mainland Chinese flavours becoming more prevalent in the city. Even the free soup (see pics) was tastier than many paid soups found in other restaurants. We ordered the Dry Fried Round Beans (G1 on the menu at the time of ordering) which comes with that super tasty Cantonese pork sauce - it makes everything taste better! And a big serve of Soy Chicken BBQ noodle soup (N2 on the menu at the time of ordering) - you won’t leave hungry! Delicious Cantonese style Soy chicken & BBQ pork with egg noodles - and that sweet/umami combo Cantonese soups are famous for. Even the tea was special, with a balanced, light fragrance which comes from a touch of lemon - a house blend apparently. Thank you, we’ll definitely be back!

BBQ King serves authentic hong Kong style Deli food with a wide selection of different stir fry with rice options. Complimentary soup is tasty and served pipping hot and they are happy to refill the soup should you ask! The roast duck is tender and crispy pork extremely tasty. The black pepper Chix over rice is tasty and very reminiscent of ordering from a hong kong kar kar lok. Won't go wrong trying this place out!

A nice Chinese restaurant close to our hotel. The restaurant has open clean see through kitchen. They specialize in Chinese bbq. The price was very reasonable and the meal come with free hot tea and soup. I saw the laksa on the menu and had to try it. I had the roast duck laksa. They gave like almost half a duck in the laksa. The duck was juicy, savory and flavorful. My brother had the 3 meat bbq plate with rice. The pork was savory. The charsui with just the right amount of sweetness. If you are in this part of the world make sure to stop by and try this place.
