This cafΓ© had that unmistakable local feelβgreat coffee and sitting right alongside charming craft shops. Itβs the perfect place to linger over a cup and soak up the atmosphere before heading off on the McHughs Forest Walk.

Gorgeous cafe and the food was sooo yum. Thoroughly enjoyed my salad (with bacon, chicken, buts and feta!!) I had a bounty bar mocha which was delish! Service from the girls is always great, and such a lovely little atmosphere.

Limited seating....very cramped. Outdoor seating was less than desirable.....Could not get a seat at 11am on a Thursday would recommend booking. Staff were very dismissive at not being able to seat us.....5 or so tables not suitable to meet their reviews. One expected due to their reviews more seating and a better attitude from staff at not being able to seat us, very offhand......We obviously moved on

My visit to the Fat Beagle Cafe in Darfield was a breakfast experience beyond compare. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. What truly stood out was their dedication to customer satisfaction. The staff listened attentively to our preferences, ensuring that the breakfast was tailored to our liking, resulting in a delicious meal. The food quality was exceptional, with a menu boasting a wide variety of options. From the hearty breakfast dishes to the delectable coffee, every aspect was outstanding. The Fat Beagle Cafe is undoubtedly a must-visit for anyone seeking great food and a memorable breakfast experience.

Never heard or knew of this place but we needed a light lunch stop and were passing on our road trip that day. There were nice tables outside and plenty room inside. The cabinet food looked fabulous and the specials menu was tempting but we both plumped for the roast vege fritata which was delicious and the coffees were great too. Will have to remember this place for the future and try the other food. Worth calling in

It was a good wait for food and drink (around 25 minutes) but it was SO WORTH IT. I had the roasted veggie frittata with beet/lentil salad, raw raspberry cheesecake and an iced coffee. Honestly, my favourite eats so far in NZ. There was a cute little artsy shop in the building that was unfortunately closed, would have loved to browse while waiting for the snacks. Hats off to the chef in the kitchen, it really hit the spot. Thanks for having some really tasty veg and vegan options!!

The Fat Beagle CafΓ©, seems a very popular spot. The style of the CafΓ© was welcoming and the toilets were clean. The food, I ordered the Pancakes with Banana and Maple Syrup (As seen in the picture). I believe it was one of best Pancakes I have ever had. Overall 5 Star, Nice Food, Nice Building, Nice CafΓ©. What else could you ask for on a Sunday Lunchtime? Definitely will be back.
