   A relaxing shaded cafe on a hot day; ample range of treats for us gluten free people. Really good coffee; no hint of bitterness. There was even a beautifully executed picture of a swan in my foam. Thanks Shine staff!

   Unfortunately this cafe has gone from one of our weekend stop-offs, to now we will no longer bother. The avocado toast was hands down the worst I have ever eaten. Tiny portion, bizarre stick of seed toast, on a strange platter with a huge hunk of coriander?! (Ew) Not to mention the $3 side of hollandaise being so pathetically tiny, that it was barely a tablespoon of sauce. My table companions pancakes, were unfortunately dry as sawdust and screamed of reheated/prepackaged. It’s a huge shame, but Shine has seriously slipped in terms of quality and we will not return.

   Enjoyed my cooked breakfast, eggs with the lot. Cost of food gone up, so consider as a treat & best not to compare to photos taken 5 years ago. Great warm friendly staff. Will visit again.

   Love love this place! Lovely lady served us, we really wanted to tip but unfourtnately we had no cash at the time. The food was Ātaahua! The smoothies were really yum and thick! A lot of places don't have thick smoothies! Will be one of my favourite breakfast places in Lower Hutt!

   Shine cafe is absolutely superb - 10/10!! The staff were all incredibly lovely, friendly, and helpful. The food was divine, and was delivered very fast. One of the Hutt's best kept secrets - it has an unassuming demeanor from the street, but I was delightfully surprised with the quality and range of the fare on offer. I got the smashed avocado which was absolutely perfect. Highly recommended, I will definitely be coming back!

   The food was ready super fast! Everything was cooked alright and I was surprised at how big the side portion of smoked salmon was. The reason for the 3 stars is because there was little to no atmosphere in the place which is important to me and the staff had poor customer service skills.

   Shine Cafe in Lower Hutt is lovely, friendly local cafe which evokes a community and food diversity friendly ambiance. Staff is super engaging and warm and the espresso is exceptional. We were lucky to enjoy their date and savory scones with butter. The cabinets are full with various food items to cater to an array of food sensitivities including dairy free, gluten free or vegan. The cafe is very impressive and highly recommended!
