“Russian bakery!! Honey cake is blowing my mind…. Light and not as sweet as I thought… Pistachio cake is the one you have to try!! It’s basically dacquoise with crunchy pistachios instead of almond, cream filling.… I have tried chicken liver pie, it also delicious. Nice combination with liver and veg, well seasoned. In general everything is above my expectations. I will definitely come back soon for other choices of pie!!”

Came here for my partners birthday at lunch time very quiet and Food was delicious had kufta and lamb kebab with bread and wow the garlic sauce that came with the kebab was amazing never had anything like it! Bread was great meat was so succulent. The kufta sauce was delicious and the meatballs were succulent and I wish I could have eaten it all but I was so full! Thank you for this amazing food”

“I visited here during a visit to Auckland when I wanted some connection with the Jewish community. They were lovely and welcoming, and when I was crushed to find out there were no bagels left, Sam specially found me their very last one and gave it to me free of charge. It made me so happy at a difficult time. The bagel was amazing! Plus the pickles, bagel chips, and matzo ball soup were all fantastic. For a perfect little slice of Jewish culture and delicious food, you can’t go wrong here. Cheers Sam!”

Our guests ( and staff) were asking for second helpings so we didn't even get to take a good photo for Tracy. With hot mulled wine this was the totally perfect compliment for a great weekend. “Grizzly always has the nicest baked goods. Their potato sourdough kicks arse, I really wish that they had it on offer more often but it seems to be pretty common at Christmas, as I've gotten to use it for the most killer post-xmas leftover sandwiches for the past few years.”

“What a fabulous place to meet up with friends. Set on the edge of Coronation park, it's away from the hustle and bustle, but close to the main shopping street, and Pilot bay. The treats on offer are devine, but my favorite is the cheesy savory scone. (They do celebration cakes too) Excellent coffee and the lemon ginger tea is delicious. The staff are awesome and look after our sizable group with ease, and nothing is too much trouble.”

“I found they made authentic desserts and visited again with my partner. I was stunned once more! The sandwich was massive and full of fresh ingredients. The salami, parsleys, ham, cheese, baby spinaches and handmade bread! The best ever! I couldn't even finish it over there and fetched it for dinner as well. When it comes to dessert, I've tried cardamom roll, pan au chocola, brown butter cookie, mascapone chocolate tart. None of them disappointed me. Every single thing was authentic. You can see different range whenever you visit then you can't be sick of their menu. Especially, brown butter cookies, it's fabulous when you have it a bit cool. The butter flavour is flooring at every bite and half the cookie is chocolate. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again”

It's far cheaper and easier to pop to Browns Bay than buy a plane ticket back to the UK! “What a wonderful place! Their restaurant food is amazing, with great portion sizes! Out of all 4 pictured meals, I can’t say I have a favourite because they were all great. They also have a great selection of cabinet food. The restaurant and cabinet food is naturally a little bit pricey but I am definitely not complaining! The only thing for me was that the iced matcha was very watered down with milk, and therefore was very milky which wasn’t the best. Also all the menus online need updating! They’re really busy most of the time (we were booked in at 11am) and the wait time for our meals and drink took about an hour, but they have a sign outside warning you about the wait time during peak hours. Their service is also really good, most especially from Mike who is just lovely and extremely friendly, and Julian who is nice also very friendly. Do I even have to talk about the atmosphere? I would especially recommend booking a table outside for a nice view out back. The cafe is situated right in the park in a beautiful Homestead and has a lovely little art gallery and shop. I would 100% recommend coming here!”
