“Amazing !! The food was delicious and the service was fantastic.!”
“Grizzly always has the nicest baked goods. Their potato sourdough kicks arse, I really wish that they had it on offer more often but it seems to be pretty common at Christmas, as I've gotten to use it for the most killer post-xmas leftover sandwiches for the past few years.”
“What a fabulous place to meet up with friends. Set on the edge of Coronation park, it's away from the hustle and bustle, but close to the main shopping street, and Pilot bay. The treats on offer are devine, but my favorite is the cheesy savory scone. (They do celebration cakes too) Excellent coffee and the lemon ginger tea is delicious. The staff are awesome and look after our sizable group with ease, and nothing is too much trouble.”
“Thank you for your lovely customer service, delicious coffee and chill atmosphere”
“Russian bakery!! Honey cake is blowing my mind…. Light and not as sweet as I thought… Pistachio cake is the one you have to try!! It’s basically dacquoise with crunchy pistachios instead of almond, cream filling.… I have tried chicken liver pie, it also delicious. Nice combination with liver and veg, well seasoned. In general everything is above my expectations. I will definitely come back soon for other choices of pie!!”
“Best bakehouse in Auckland. Was served by Ed who was very friendly and extremely precessional. I got the pork belly pie. Incredible seasoning filled with meat. Best pie I’ve ever had. Thank you Ed.”
“Superb Coffee! Didnt eat, just had amazing coffee. So good, i returned the following day for more - as it was such a damn fine cup of coffee! Will try a lil something to eat next time Im passing..”
“30th birthday cake I ordered was amazing! From the personalized decoration to the delicious cake inside. Great service. If your wanting a cake for a special occasion I can highly recommend.”
“Love this place, they had a great deal on 6 x Bottles French wine for $75 and there was a descent selection.”
“This restaurant more than lives up to all the great reviews. The setting, location, interior, and vibe are perfectly in tune with each other. The food is incredibly flavorful and beautifully presented. We had breakfast here, and you could truly say it’s a breakfast for champions! If you’re staying in Auckland, this place is an absolute must-visit.”
“Sandwiches are good amd delicious! Always crowded, sometimes can't hear what my friends says, but it was okay because food and coffee here are the BEST. Come in the morning or late afternoon on spring or autumn. Magical.”
“Love this place. High quality cakes, pies, savouries and other baked goods. Also a neat wee cafe to have a coffee (which are also great). Always get out birthday cakes here too. Staff are super friendly and really take care of you. Highly recommended.”
“The icecreams are awesome here.”
“This shop has allowed me to settle permanently in NZ. When I'm homesick or just craving a taste of UK, they always have what I need. It's far cheaper and easier to pop to Browns Bay than buy a plane ticket back to the UK! The range of special items is amazing, and lovely personal service where they make an effort to help you find what you want. Real service, it's awesome. Thanks so much!”
“I've driven past literally hundreds of times and today I finally had the pleasure of having lunch there with my wife. The atmosphere, service, food quality and cost was excellent and I will be sure at the very least to be getting my hot chocolate from there on a regular basis. We sat outside in the patio area with our puppy and enjoyed a faultless experience.”
“Great way to surprise your dear ones. Ordered Black Forrest cake at level 4 of lockdown with delivery to St. John's. They delivered BEFORE 11am on such a busy day! Father in law was impressed and loved the cake! Support the local business! ❤️”
“What a wonderful place! Their restaurant food is amazing, with great portion sizes! Out of all 4 pictured meals, I can’t say I have a favourite because they were all great. They also have a great selection of cabinet food. The restaurant and cabinet food is naturally a little bit pricey but I am definitely not complaining! The only thing for me was that the iced matcha was very watered down with milk, and therefore was very milky which wasn’t the best. Also all the menus online need updating! They’re really busy most of the time (we were booked in at 11am) and the wait time for our meals and drink took about an hour, but they have a sign outside warning you about the wait time during peak hours. Their service is also really good, most especially from Mike who is just lovely and extremely friendly, and Julian who is nice also very friendly. Do I even have to talk about the atmosphere? I would especially recommend booking a table outside for a nice view out back. The cafe is situated right in the park in a beautiful Homestead and has a lovely little art gallery and shop. I would 100% recommend coming here!”
“First German restaurant for me and I have to say: I will come back. Me and my partmer had the plate A and even if it looks big, if you’re hungry don’t worry you’ll eat everything. Loved the sauce and the smashed potatoes, reminds me of my grandma’s one. I like the fact that you have tomatoes, coleslaw and other salads on free service. We also had the tab german beer and nothing to add you know just a tab beer. But the owner is really kind and gave us a good experience. Boyfriend here, I’ve been to Berlin and the taste is familiar. I vouch for this only german restaurant in West Auckland. Traditional I love it”
“Authentic French food in Auckland. Perfect for weekend brunch spot. We enjoyed savoury galettes, croque monsieur and eggs benedict. Dinner menu looks great too.”
“Always fresh and delicious! Bakers Delight never fails with their breads and pastries, and my new favourite – the Pistachio Cruffin – is simply irresistible. Highly recommend!”
“The place was recommended by a fellow backpacker so i'd thought i'll come by to take a look. Not a big place but does have both indoor and outdoors sitting. Everyone's okie to share the table. Minimalistically decorated. Variety on the menu. I was in a dilemma on choosing what to eat and the owner shared what he preferred which wasnt the most expensive thing off the menu. Haha. Shows the love he has for the food and people than the profit. Awesome. I had Hash: its pulled pork and taters.. very well done, not overly salty. Well prepared. Hot chocolate, theres the cadbury and whittakers options. Always nice to know there's a choice. :) Street parking. Help urself to the water, by the counter. All in all, an enjoyable brunch out.”
“Vibes off the chart, 15 minutes here and my stress melted away. Lowfi bossa nova beats, quiet chats of happy regulars, service with a smile and the fresh beach air means I will be coming back again and again”
“Great coffee, tasty food, happy customers!”
“Lovely organic shop with a bulk section, bread, vegetables and all the vegan and organic food you could ever want. And the best thing is, it’s connected to Hapi Café, so it’s a real Mekka for vegan and organic food culture. Very cute and vibrant.”
“Good Asian market I wish they can carry more stuff from Taiwan.”
“A gem of a place, super delicious coffee and incredible cakes and pastries, we wanted to try everything and got a few different bits but the caramel, pear and walnut tart was a definite stand out. We sat outside with Gus the dog and he very much enjoyed it and was very spoilt. Lovely owners and so welcoming and friendly. Thank you for having us, we will be back!”
“Really nice place atmosphere qas really good, got the big cup and really good portions with good flavor. We used to go to Golden sands alot but this will be new breakfast place. Price $$ good for a breakfast place. Food was a really good portion and was tasty. Customer service was excellent. Only issue was the knives weren't really sharp so it struggled to cut the sour dough bread. Still great experience. Overall rating 5/5 would highly recommend.”
“A good experience in every sense. The pies are master pieces. They even have an award. My flat white was strong enough to be one of the best”
“Highly rate. Great food selection. Coffee excellent. Friendly people to serve you:-) They’ve even got T-Shirt merch!! Had Frittata with Homemade Chutney, coffee and Afghan biscuit. Excellent.”
“they've been around in the valley since I've been born, their pies are incredibly good and I always urge people visiting me in the valley to swing by. Great donuts, apple turnovers and cheesecake too! and their pizza bread is a must try. staff has always been incredibly welcoming and lovely :-)”
