“We have had so much fun here over the years that Animal Ark has been open, my kids love it and it’s it’s been wonderful to bring them somewhere to meet animals outside of our very grumpy old cat. The animals are always in great condition and happily pottering along waiting for some snacks. Owners/staff are really friendly, always explain the rules really simply and clearly to the kids. We’ve made so many cool memories here and I’m really grateful for that.”

“The apartments are beautifully designed, well-equipped, and nicely presented. Just a short walk away we found plenty of takeaway options and a supermarket, making it perfect for both short and longer stays. Mao was incredibly kind and went out of their way to return an item we had accidentally left behind. A truly lovely place with equally lovely people.”

“Extremely happy with my stay. Lovely warm comfortable unit at an affordable price. Warm rooms, comfortable bed and cosy cushions. Lovely hot shower with great water pressure, fully equipped kitchen. Great location, host was very friendly polite and welcoming. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and pride put into the entire property. Garage parking gave me peace of mind knowing my vehicle was safe and to top it off pet friendly so my travel companion was welcomed as much as I was which made my over all experience exceed my expectations. “Spacious, well appointed apartment with kitchenette and large bathroom. Lounge/bedroom very generously proportioned. Exterior looks a bit worn but don't let that put you off. The interior is lovely and the beds comfortable. Despite being almost in the very centre of the city, it was amazingly quiet at night.”

“Lovely atmosphere on the corner across from the St David lecture theatre. Loved my matcha latte. Use the brand Alternative for their alty milks. Small cabinet of lovely fresh cakes. Peaceful inside even though it's on a busy street.”

“Everything I'd expect from the standardized Countdown experience. Generally very good and no complaints. It's very hard to find a member of staff here, except at checkout. Sometimes annoying and maybe due to the seemingly larger floor space. Always really good though.”

“Very nice receptionist who allowed me to check in before the norm check in time and specifically did up the bed to accommodate me. Cheers for that. Nicely done up bathroom which is impressive. So far the only bathroom with heating rod to keep the hand towels dry. Rooms are spacious w a mobile heater which warm up the room. Lots of storage beneath, on the side and a panel inside the pod to keep some necessities. Extra storage near the receptionist upon request. Super impressed by the Japanese receptionist who even help carry luggage to the room.”

“Our dog was well looked after over a busy period. She was happy and even put on a bit of weight, so must have loved their food. They were the only kennels that responded to my initial enquiry and booking our dog in was quick and easy.”

“We stayed at the Waihola holiday park in our caravan for a weekend. Facilities on-site were all clean in the kitchen and bathrooms. Happily use the amenities if needed. Great view of the lake. Our powered site was perfect for us. Overall a great stay”

“This small motel was perfect for our needs. The staff were so kind and helpful. We couldn't arrive in reception hours but they were super okay with sorting it. The room was neat and had everything we needed. Heater was wonderful and we could adjust temperature easily. It was the cleanest basic motel we have stayed in when we have visited Dunedin. WiFi was a bit on and off in our room. Location was excellent. An easy flat walk into main area of town if you like to walk or a quick drive. Dairy's close. Off street parking, some spots better than others. Loved the kitchenette. (Airfryer was great). Everything you need. Laundry available. Wished we could of stayed longer. Thanks for the lovely stay.”

Always clean and tidy and always has an atmosphere of welcome and efficiency. What I like the most is the age range of staff.”

I am grateful for her assistance in not only serving me at the "pay here" counter (by the new entrance way) but carrying my rather awkward purchase to my car.
