We have had so much fun here over the years that Animal Ark has been open, my kids love it and itβs itβs been wonderful to bring them somewhere to meet animals outside of our very grumpy old cat. The animals are always in great condition and happily pottering along waiting for some snacks. Owners/staff are really friendly, always explain the rules really simply and clearly to the kids. Weβve made so many cool memories here and Iβm really grateful for that.

I visited the animal ark sanctuary today. Very cheap admission. The whole set up is clean tidy and very well organised and good fencing and warm stables. I especially enjoyed Boris the pig and the 2 cows. A bigger enclosure area would be good for the pigs. Lovely seeing all their individual personalities. More than any thing your 2 cows., Hope they have been rescued from future slaughter and not consumption and to live a lovely life in a safe environment and FOREVER home just being. As with any Sanctuary in the world including yours that's open to the public and their opinions and its authenticity, I feel its not appropriate to have on one property rescued animals, for keeps, and another species exempt in this situation the cows. Especially calling your business a rescue and sanctuary the meaning of a sanctuary is to offer protection for the rest of their live and not impregnating and using for breeding purposes. If you removed these descriptions on your site, it would not be an issue, to have the two.. I don't think it's also right as a sanctuary to use the animals for breeding to sell on to other people putting them in a position to be exploited. The 2 things are opposite to each other (sanctuary and breeding to sell).. I think the cows should also be included in your photos on your site ( if they are saved) and also a display card with their names and history as they are important individuals as well, and it would be great to see more forever sanctuary in NZ setting up like in the UK and USA,like ( Barn sanctuary GENE BAUR going since 1988 public and business donations have helped their continuation.. These 2 beautiful sentient cows deserve to live a good 20 years and not sent to slaughter

I haven't personally visited, but my 3-year-old just did, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. He tells me there were lambs who didn't talk, and donkeys who did, but shouldn't because they were so loud. Also goats with horns and goats without horns. The goats with horns were not keen for food, the goats without horns were. There was a little little baby horsey who he liked to feed, and a big horsey who liked to be fed by the adults. He also claims there were ostriches, which everyone else apparently misidentified as emus (but he knows better). There was a baby ostrich called a turkey who couldn't get into the ostrich enclosure, so the big ostriches really should have opened the gate for it.

Lovely outing, kids enjoyed seeing all the different animals and feeding them. We were given bags of pellets to feed some of the animals and were able to buy more. There are picnic tables which would be perfect for a picnic on a sunny day. There's also a playground.
