“No idea what the 1 star reviews like CHLOE are talking about. this is the best sushi I have had of all time. Perfect amount of sauce, and mayo. chicken and rice ratio is made to perfection. When ever I am in Kaiapoi I am always sure to stop by and buy a tray of sushi. Keep doing what you're doing guys, because what ever you're doing it's working.”
“This is located in a food court and shared spaces with another restaurant Eight grains dumplings and Bao. We ordered the vegan bento box with soy marinated eggs, vegan ramen and gyozas. The portions are sumptuous and the food is really tasty. All the sides in the bento box were delicious especially the miso ramen. The vegan ramen was delicious too. Overall the ambience is really good combined with very fast service”

“We visited today as a family and ordered the Wagyu lunch set. The salad, kimchi, pickles, rice, and the tender, flavorful beef were absolutely delicious and melted in our mouths!!! The girls had so much fun grilling the meat themselves. We also tried the chicken karaage. it was big, crispy, and really tasty. We were so impressed by the kindness of the staff, especially the kind lady who served our table. Her attentive and friendly service made our meal even more memorable. Thank you!!!”

“It's not the cheapest sushi but the selection is great and the premises is very nice and easy to order from. Lovely high ceiling and nice furniture. Even the wooden chopsticks and soy bottles feel premium compared to other sushi restaurants. I would advise eating in rather than takeway.”
“Absolutely the best Japanese restaurant and a real asset for Kaipoi. First time diners and food was magnificent and cooked with precision ,humor and flavors are to die for. Will definitely be back.”
“Delicious! Smash Browns and Chicken Fenders were very tasty and addictive. We felt they were perfectly seasoned, though some might find them a tad too salty depending on your preference. There are plant-based vegan and vegetarian options too. Great for a quick bite before or after flights or while waiting for your rental vehicle nearby. About a 10min walk from the airport terminal. There are boards showing real-time updates of departing and arriving flights. We dropped by for our first meal in the country after flying in, and came again for our final meal before flying off. Plenty of parking outside. Tables are a little sticky, and sometimes the benches during lunch hour have crumbs; could do with more thorough cleaning.”
“Absolutely loved this place! A cozy, family-run Japanese restaurant with amazing food and a welcoming atmosphere. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The staff were kind and attentive, making us feel right at home. Perfect spot for anyone who appreciates Japanese cuisine and warm hospitality!”

The atmosphere at Chichi Kitchen is warm and inviting, creating a perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. “Sakura is a real “cherry” treasure well hidden inside Asian Mall. When we first found it, we couldn’t believe our luck. Small , family run Japanese restaurant with amazing options of both vegan and not vegan food. Our favourites are Agedashi Tofu, veggie tempura and seaweed salad which is must try ! There are some choices of sushi including vegetarian but if you ask they make it vegan. Plenty of choice of Sake as well for connoisseur of that drink. Staff is always nice and friendly and very polite. Since tables are limited booking is recommended especially on weekends as place is always packed. Sakura is No. 1 Japanese restaurant in town without doubt!”
“Randomly craving Karaage, so I went to this place cuz it’s the closest Japanese restaurant I could find. I got Karaage and pork donburi and both are so delicious! Will be back and try the ramen next time!”
