“Kidsfirst Hawthornden is a wonder Kindergarten. It has a large outdoor area with a mix of modern and traditional play equipment for the children. The community at the kindergarten is strong, with many activities throughout the year which help bring whanau into the Centre and builds connection. “My Preschool is fantastic. It feels like you are dropping your little one to a family or friends house for the day. Lovely cosy indoor space with activities galore, a huge outdoor area with real grass (gasp!), vege garden, chickens and plenty of things to keep little minds busy. The staff are lovely and caring and Neill and Denise (the owners) are always present and involved, can't recommend enough!! Our wee man has thrived here :)”

“We highly rate Portobelo! We have children in the preschool and nursery. We are consistently impressed with the caring, attentive, playful and professional nature of the teachers. There is regular communication on what activities the kids have been up to and each day at pick up they make an effort to let us know something special about their day. Their emotional and physical wellbeing is readily taken care of and the communication is efficient with regards to this. Our kids have developed bonds with their teachers and speak positively of them in our home, they really make it a great place. The set up is homely, yet modern, with great natural back yard with plenty of room - seperately for the nursery and preschool. Our kids strengths are supported, our boy is free to create amazing things and develop his problem solving skills. And our wee girl is provided with care she needs to develop independence.
