Played my first round of golf in New Zealand here. The course was in good shape. I birdied the first hole and knew then and there that the course was gonna win that day. I know better than to birdie #1. All in all, I'd recommend it to anyone. I know I'll be back the next time I come here.
Alas Templeton fairways are a long way fron good.A lot of bare dry areas on every fairway.Even with placing not a really good option. A good many other golf courses to choose from with better conditions.
good course for someone who doesn't take golf seriously. greens and tee boxes are the only areas that are somewhat maintained. fairways are a mix of grass and dirt, the rough is mostly just long grass or dirt. every hole is pretty much dead straight with no sign of any creativity in it's design.
It's relatively well maintained. It's a great course to play as beginners and have played few rounds here regularly until we had a really bad experience at the club shop. Since we are beginners, we tend share clubs and so quite consciously tend to play late evenings as there are less people around and so we don't make people wait while we play. Have been playing here for a few months this way until "John" decided to change that and said we can't play if we share clubs between the two of us. Even when we tried to explain that it was after 5.00PM and we were the only ones starting to play at that time. Felt like he was on a power trip and had no sense of reasoning. He was quite rude and was being a Drove down few Ks and played a great round at McLeans Island. It's sad that I am not going to go here anymore.
$15 for U24 great value good long holes and very well kept course. Worth calling ahead and booking however.
Bit close to a tree off the tee. Chip out 8 iron to 8 feet,missed putt 5. Still happy
