“What a nice place to stay. We were waiting in Christchurch before taking the TranzAlpine. The staff were so friendly. General amenities were present and the hygiene and cleanliness was up to standard. Perfect for anyone”
“The owner is passionate, caring, and really accommodating albeit a bit crazy (I mean that lovingly). The room smelled great and was clean. This my fault for not reading clearly, but the room doesn’t have air con and there is no fan. I just came from Antarctica and therefore super hot- maybe it wouldn’t have been a big deal otherwise. PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING THROUGH A THIRD PARTY- Agoda made things really difficult for the owner and me by overbooking. The location was good for me due to what I needed but it’s a bit far from central. With everything said, I’d stay here again for the owners genuine.”
“Okay, so I have reviewed this place already. But I feel it worth it to add another positive review after my last few stays. Have stayed at 162 many times now. It's fairly short drive from the airport makes it a convenient overnight halt for me. The rooms are well appointed and clean. The owner is a absolute delight to deal with, his customer service is above and beyond. Showers have great pressure, rooms are toasty and warm, and beds comfortable with quality linen. Full Sky TV offered, and the motel is across the road from the Westfield mall. Waking up in a motel on Christmas morning is never fun, but I was glad I was staying at 162! Thanks team, keep up the great work!!!”
“Lovely, clean motel that's been recently decorated. Good location, walking distance to the Uni. Really friendly staff who go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable. Will definitely come back here.”
“The manager was extremely accommodating by letting us store packs before check in and after on both times staying here. He dropped us off at the train and picked us up. Fantastic location and tidy rooms. Very good value for money”
“Friendly welcome. Great central location on bus route from airport. Upgraded room spacious, clean with comfortable bed. Very good well priced dinner and excellent breakfast. Great value.”
“Our two-night stay in Urbanz Queenstown was extremely pleasant! Each bed had its own personal nightlight and outlets and a curtain for privacy, though the curtain didn’t go past the bunk ladder. The bedding was super comfortable and towels were provided. Toilet paper wasn’t always available in all of the bathrooms. The showers were a decent size and there were hooks and shelves for your belongings. The hostel location is pretty central to the city which is very convenient and walking distance to the botanic gardens and nearby shops. At reception, we were advised of some parking spaces which were free 24/7, which was pretty nice. The wifi was pretty bad in all areas of the hostel, and the layout is confusing because there’s no singular staircase that takes you to all the floors, you’ll need to weasel your way around to make your way to the kitchen. Reception isn’t always staffed, so if the sliding door is unlocked during the “open” hours, the hostel isn’t very secure as you can access almost any part of the hostel without a key card once you get past reception. The cost for the two nights we stayed was reasonable. The kitchen was well stocked, absolutely beautiful and had an abundance of space for both dry and cold storage. I’d stay here again!”
“Our 2-night stay at this picturesque lodge was made unforgettable by the breathtaking scenery and the warm hospitality of John and Sharon.”
“John and Ping were absolutely amazing hosts! Their house was beautiful and they were so accommodating. I highly recommend booking this B&B whenever you stay in Christchurch. From the food recs and the complimentary continental breakfast to the genuine conversations we shared, I cannot express the amount of hospitality John and Ping provided us!”
“I thought it would be cold in the South Island in winter, but instead it was sunny and tree-lined. I'm in Lincoln, staying at Chateau Pritchard. It's not far from Christchurch, but it's quieter than Christchurch. There's a famous university here, Lincoln University. It is easy to drive to various attractions from here. The owners are an amiable couple with their gentle dog. I loved walking barefoot on the grass in their garden in the morning, listening to the birds singing and soaking up the sun. At night we sat in the open-air SPA bathtub and looked up at the skyfull of stars. Barbara, the owner of the house, a lady with a sweet smile, can cook all kinds of delicious food. During our stay, she gave us a lot of help, just like our relatives. I highly recommend it and would choose to stay here next time if I had the chance.”

“Large, high-quality, and well-furnished holiday apartment, next to the farm in the countryside, with a sunny outdoor seating area. Very friendly hosts.”
“My husband and I had a wonderful three night stay here. The accomodation was luxurious and incredibly spacious. Fukiko was so kind and welcoming, we had wonderful conversations each morning over the beautiful breakfasts she prepared. The Japanese onsen was also such a treat! Thank you for looking after us so well!”
“The host is great, and the room is very comfortable”
“I went there on my honeymoon. Honestly, I don't speak English well, so we couldn't really talk much, but I could really feel their kindness. It's been nine years since we last visited, but I still remember it vividly. And the lemon tree in front of our first-floor room is so memorable. The scenery was beautiful.”
“Great set up, lovely hosts. Everything you need for a B&B. Close to Westfield mall and the University.”
“Peaceful, welcoming and great hospitality.”
“Stayed here two nights, the hosts are awesome down to earth people. The units are very homely and we absolutely love the theme! Beds were comfy, rooms clean, roomy and they had everything you would need! Would highly recommend staying here! Thanks guys!”

“I had a wonderful stay in Whaka Heights. The host Jill is very friendly and thoughtful. She communicated with me through email when needed to keep me informed of all necessary arrangements and logistics. The room is nice and clean with a private bathroom. I can choose the breakfast I need every morning.”
“Staying here was like having a vacation from our vacation. It was divine.”
“A very quaint wee place. Amazing location - two minutes walk into Lyttleton. It was brilliant spending a couple of days there looking at the comings and goings at the port...”
