Our 2-night stay at this picturesque lodge was made unforgettable by the breathtaking scenery and the warm hospitality of John and Sharon.
Incredible place, amazing hosts. After 3 weeks of traveling in New Zealand staying a night or two at many nice places, our stay at Kaituna Homestay was our TOP choice! First, this incredible home is located in a heaven of peaceful nature. We could enjoy the amazing garden and walks, the jacuzzi outside, and the cute animals all around. The room is huge and super comfortable, like a hotel suite. Second, Sharon and John are wonderful and caring hosts, we felt like at home. The breakfast was delicious and better than in restaurants. We left resourced and happy with incredible memories. We will definitely come again, and stay longer.
The homestead is in a beautiful area, very scenic and peaceful. The homestead itself is very elegant and well maintained. The grounds are lovely, as was the view from the sunroom of our suite. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Recommend a car. If you are looking for a serene and beautiful stay in the countryside outside Christchurch, then this is the place for you. We really enjoyed our stay here.

My husband & I spent 2 nights at this beautiful historic Homestead to celebrate a joint special birthday. John & Sharon are friendly welcoming hosts who really go the extra mile with homebaking, fruit & treats that made our stay perfect. The suite was spacious & comfortable and the breakfast menu has many options and the servings are generous. Its a beautiful place to get away from the busyness of life unwind, we highly recommend it and we cant wait to go back.
Such a beautiful spot, the hosts went out of their way to cater to our needs and even made a lovely dinner and cake for my husband's birthday. Lovely luxury room with a huge bed, awesome views to the animals and the valley, great bath. Little snacks and coffee and breakfast included, all amazing. We were doing the Te Ara Pataka trail after we left and that breakfast was enough to keep us full for a whole day of hiking! All round we had a great experience and would highly recommend this spot to anyone passing through this part of the country.
I think, for me, this was the most memorable stay in NZ. Amazing view from room, quiet and peaceful surroundings, beautiful historical house, lovely animals, outside spa with stars, great meal and wonderful hostsโJohn and Sharon. It was like heaven, I loved all of those moments. We will definitely come back again. Thank you so much, Sharon and John!
My wife Cate and I came to relax and we weren't disappointed, amazing location, beautiful, quiet, spacious and quite luxurious. Our stay was truly amazing and finished off with a delightful breakfast near the fire place Fantastic stay highly recommended
