   We were on holiday from the US and were looking for a place to have breakfast along the coast while staying in Christchurch. We had the most delicious breakfast ever, I wish I had realized I could get ice cream with my waffles before our last day.

   This place was awesome, the food was delicious and the drinks were wonderful. Though the prices were very “fair” and there was a lot of kids around, that didn’t bother me too much. Pork, pineapple, cream cheese pie was amazing. Iced chocolate was up there with the best that i’ve had.

   Great service, great food. A family run business so happy to support. Got the cheese burgers and we were happy with it. The fondue is a nice touch and they made the effort for each individual ingredients on the burger - like grilling the cheese. Nice location with playground for kids and very dog friendly. The espresso martini cocktail was good, they also have plenty of drinks to select from. Only peeve was I wasn’t offered a look at my receipt before paying, just was presented with the amount on the card machine. Also wanted to get some cakes to takeaway as a treat for someone else, but the cake which looked beautiful with their icing were placed in paper bag instead of a proper box for presentation. Could be presented nicer, just a small feedback. Other than that, would recommend coming here.

   This cafe has definitely improved with the latest owners. 6 of us met up for breakfast and all were happy with their meals. Service was friendly and welcoming, the meals arrived within a reasonable time frame. We were having such a good time that we ordered a bottle of bubbles to complete the morning !

   Our total bill came to $76 dollars for two people. We ordered two coffees and two meals with one side for both. This seemed more expensive than other cafes in the area. When receiving the food we notice how small the portion size was and felt the quality was not worth the price tag. Coffees where okay, but there is better value in the area.

   The Vegan Toastie was so good!! The dairy free cheese was deliciously gooey and it had great seasoning overall. We also enjoyed the crispy Squid that came with a side of roasted garlic bulbs, yum! Great coffee, really like the small fudge that accompanied with my pot of English tea. The staff was fantastic, very welcoming and seemed like a fun group. The restaurant had a small playground, great for kids. And dog friendly with many different seating options. Sadly I'm not a local and only passing by. I will have to prioritise a visit the next time I'm back in Christchurch.

   This is a favorite Cafe for us. We visit at least once a week. The ambience is outstanding. It is a fabulous example of relaxed beach chill - friendly and welcoming to the locals, to visitors, to cyclists and runners, dogs, children and their parents! The garden is a wonderful place to spend an hour or two with choices about sitting in the sun or the shade, in a quiet corner for two or in a large group. The service is also excellent as the owners are nearly always there greeting guests and ensuring the service is both relaxed and professional. The food is also outstanding with an interesting choice of dishes which changes regularly.
