Great for a big breakfast or brunch. The highlight for me was the quesadilla, a good amount of bacon and chorizo (I think) piled with eggs and guacamole. Good range of flavours. Then it was the French toast, paired with more bacon. Definitely one to go for for those with a sweet tooth. The classic breakfast and the avocado toast were a tad disappointing, and felt like your average quality, but presented in a better way. Overall, a really good spot to go to for a big meal.

I’m torn - the coffee was really good and they deliver on the technique. My only pushback here is the pastry we had - an orange chia cake. Admittedly it was very bitter. To me it seemed like the orange zest was too strong or they cut in too deep when grating the orange. That said, the other pastries they had looked good but we didn’t get to try those so cannot comment on their taste. I highly recommend their coffee. Maybe you all will have a better luck with their pastries.

The atmosphere on a Sunday morning is simply amazing! Locals and visitors alike gather here to chat and connect over excellent coffee and pastries. I tried the walnut and date cake — it was absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely come back if I’m ever back in New Zealand!

We had breakfast here on Monday morning. The restaurant was busy but beautifully decorated. We tried the French toast and a sandwich, and both were really tasty and reasonably priced. The staff were super friendly—they even offered us extra utensils when they saw we were sharing our food. Highly recommend!

Perfect Spot for Breakfast or Brunch! Unknown Chapter has the ideal balance of great food, coffee, and atmosphere. The vibe is relaxed, with plants hanging from the ceiling that give it a fresh, almost jungle-like feel. Their menu is extensive, with plenty of options for vegans and vegetarians, alongside freshly made sandwiches and hot dishes. They roast their own coffee in-house, which really shines through in the beautiful soy flat white – smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. We ordered the halloumi sandwich, freshly toasted, paired with a large soy flat white. It was so good we ended up ordering it again to share! Hot food and hot coffee – the ultimate brunch combination. It’s a buzzing spot that fills up quickly, but with super-fast service and walk-ins welcome, it’s absolutely worth the visit.

One of the best breakfast/brunch places I’ve ever had! The place gets quite packed even on weekdays so I recommend coming earlier to secure a seat. Food was delicious too! Shared three dishes with my family of four since the portions were also quite big. The coffee also hit the spot- highly recommend going for their oat latte:) There’s plenty of other food options available too. Sending love from Singapore!

Great location on St Asaph St where all the trendy cafes and restaurants are. Near the Boxed Quarter and SALT square. Cool vibes with hanging green plants from the celing and bustling atmosphere. Self-service when ordering and paying for food/drinks. Freshly made items on the cabinet. Classic brunch menu. Poached eggs were cooked to perfection. Some twists on food would be in line with those of Sydney of Melbourne.

Very cool cafe, exceptional service & no extra charge for cream with a long black. Beautiful looking cabinet food & a wide variety of drinks on offer. Loads of plants hanging and framing the open inviting space. Loads of tables with indoor/outdoor options. Delicious milkshakes & great coffee! Would definitely recommend and find a reason to go back!

Really great place!! I had heard really great things about this place so I know I HAD to go with my friend. We found a table straight away and the atmosphere was busy but nice. There was a wide range of cabinet food as well as a nice menu of food and drinks. We ordered the French toast and Benedict, which both came really fast which was lovely (give or take 15 minutes). Bacon was an extra $6 for French toast but I was given heaps of pieces which was lovely. Both meals were super lovely and I would DEFINITELY come back. My new favourite café in Ōtautahi!! Thanks for the lovely brunch guys :)))
