This is a real kiwi coffee shack with friendliest service, great coffee and tastiest baked goodies. Everyone seems to know each other and the barista is quite a character. Kudos!
It’s a small shed-style café, but the coffee doesn’t taste like it’s from a small shop at all — it was really good. The pies were also excellent. I think the pies come from Lyttelton, and I’d love to try them there as well.
Jimmy’s wee coffee cart at Kracken is your quintessential local coffee spot. Jimmy combines consistently excellent coffee with a friendly personable banter, the community garden setting provides a great relaxed vibe for the beachside suburb of New Brighton & the pies are VERY good!
Absolutely love this place! Hands down the best coffee in Christchurch—maybe even the world. The team is always in great spirits and incredibly efficient at getting your coffee just right. Their baked goods are also top-notch! You can text in your order for convenience, or relax in the outdoor space, which is perfect if you’ve got a toddler in tow

We stopped here on the way out of Brighton, and we are SO glad we did so. It was the best coffee I have had in a long time. There's also a really nice outdoor area to sit and relax. We will definitely be back.

Best coffee and pies in chch. Open early. Quick freindly service. Places to sit in the sun and shelter from the rain. Dogs welcome great for kids. Easy parking and fun events often. Easy stroll to beach or the estuary side. Whats not too like?
