“Ok...I have to admit, it was not my intention to come here. I was really looking for The Grove and since they were closed this was right next door and up stairs. What an adorable place with a variety of fresh foods, filtered water, charming ambiance and a full bar of coffee, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. No AC but the seating area is charming overlooking the near by park and church. And did I mention free wifi.”
“Look at that inviting courtyard. What a great place for a meeting, a break or stop for office time in one of their booths. Plenty of space in the back with outdoors covered seating area too. Great coffee and eggs Benedict. Cafe at front and large bar inside. You need to look in deeper than just from the street entrance.”
“breakfast roll from the cabinet is so good. The pork belly tacos taste much better here compared to another branch I went to. They also know how to make good coffee. Never disappointed.”
“Best wood fried vegetarian pizza. They did take out at our work and we loved it.”
“Great little village with boutique, restaurants, cafes & food stores ...”
“I have been here a couple of times now. And every time, these guys impress me with the quality of food they serve and their service. I was here with a couple of workmates a few weeks ago for lunch, to enjoy a meal from Western India. Their food is absolutely authentic and delicious. The staff was very friendly too. Their Parathas, Dhoklas and sweets are a must try especially Jalebis! The portions are great too and so is their take away packaging! I would highly recommend them! :) Cheers”
“Beautiful grounds, lovely club rooms. I watched some awesome women's cricket here!”
“A BIG thank you to all the staff at Waipuna Hotel who took such wonderful care of my kids during their 4-day stay. They were so happy with the room, and we could truly feel the friendliness and kindness from everyone they met. I had a few requests for the Reservation Manager, and it was clear that every detail was looked after with care. We are really grateful for the effort and hospitality – it gave us great peace of mind and made their stay very special. Highly recommend Waipuna Hotel for anyone looking for a place with comfort, warmth, and genuine service. :)”
“I just came in an got a bacon and egg quiche that was the best thing I have eaten to this day. 10 out of 10 highly recommend”
“Amazing service and even better food! Got the croissants and the blue smoothies and it was all superb! Maybe the best breakfast in New Zealand! Love all the staff and their infectious positivity! Thank you for the amazing expirience :)”
“Excellent food. Perfect service. Loved the smokey bacon and sourdough. I'd buy loaves of bread if you stocked them. Highly recommended. Will be back for sure!”
“A wonderful Turkish influenced cafe. The Baklava latte was spot on. Paired with chilli scrambled eggs worked well with flavours. Loved the whipped feta beetroot that came with the smashed avocado. They also have a separate kids menu. Our table host Ted was pleasant and gave us a good experience. Beautiful morning wonderfully plated food. Even the butter on toast had a special wrap.”
“Delicious eggs on sourdough. Just perfect and great value. I couldn't stop looking at the cabinet food though - wow!! It all looks absolutely amazing, delicious and wish I could have come back for morning tea... and lunch... and afternoon tea! Everything was wonderfully presented as well. What a great spot!”
“The chicken curry is simply the best. Add plenty of chili oil and youre sorted. Give it a go.”
“Staff are excellent, very friendly and the food is very reasonably priced - I had a big bucket of delicious mussels for only $14. Wide drinks selection. And the music is very good wink wink. Hard to complain, thank you for a good time”
“Just looking for a little place. Just got into town in New Zealand at the pier. Like for some Asian food, something with flavor. We stumbled upon this place. The food was excellent. Service was good. Staff was prompt on all their items. The food is brought out as it's ready instead of waiting for everyone. Kind of nice. They're just small little dishes that we ordered. Everything tasted extremely fresh. Everything tasted the way it should. And met all our expectations. Me and Agnes were both please. Atmosphere sitting on the water. Relaxing. Eating good food beautiful scenery. Even though we're a little tired from our 13-hour flight. Still was nice to sit down. I have quality food. Another week or so here. Can't wait to try many more restaurants.”
“Super cozy, friendly atmosphere restaurant. A lot of options of vegan desserts and cakes. Delicious coffee and teas. Friendly and welcoming staff. One of my favourites in Auckland for coffee and dessert. Thanks! :)”
“Stopped in just passing through.. I am sad I don’t live out these parts, this is the best sushi I’ve tasted and great value!”
“The food here was really delicious and full of flavor! We tried a few dishes, and everything tasted fresh and well cooked. The service was also excellent — friendly and attentive staff who made us feel very welcome. Definitely a great place to enjoy a nice meal. Highly recommend!”
“Juicy and delicious chicken burger. Excellent service.”
“Our friend recommended this place and it’s our first time to try their food. We had been looking for a place where we could get good Fijian curry. This place did not disappoint. We had the lamb curry, chicken in sauce and Palau. They were all good. We would definitely return.”
“Excellent Don Buri I have been coming and eating her for ten years . The best coffee ever had on Lincoln Road food wonderful.”
“I recently visited Big Beat Coffee and Kitchen on Dominion Road, and I have to say, this place is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the spacious and inviting atmosphere. The café is beautifully designed, with green being the dominant color, which adds a fresh, relaxing, and vibrant vibe to the whole place. It feels like a little oasis on busy Dominion Road, perfect for catching up with friends or just enjoying a quiet moment with a coffee. Speaking of coffee, I ordered a flat white, which cost $6. While some might find that a bit on the higher side, I felt it was worth every cent. The quality was top-notch—smooth, rich, and perfectly brewed. You can tell the baristas know their craft. The presentation of the food is equally impressive, almost like a work of art on a plate. Every dish looks as good as it tastes, with attention to detail that really sets this café apart. Whether you're in for breakfast, lunch, or just a snack, the food is consistently well-made and beautifully presented. The staff are another highlight—they were all incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that everything was just right. It’s clear that the café is run by hardworking people who take pride in what they do. There’s even an additional dining room next door, which is a great option if you’re coming with a larger group or want a bit more privacy during your meal. The cleanliness of the café, including the restroom, was also worth mentioning. It's refreshing to see such care taken to maintain a spotless environment, adding to the overall positive experience. Big Beat Coffee and Kitchen is truly a special spot, and I'm grateful for the excellent coffee and service they provide. Whether you're a local or just passing through, I highly recommend checking this place out. It’s not just about the coffee or food—it’s the whole package. You’ll leave feeling satisfied, welcomed, and already planning your next visit. Thank you to the entire team at Big Beat for a wonderful experience. I’ll definitely be back!”
“Love this place! The couple os so sweet and friendly. Always very welcoming. The food always taste so fresh. This is my favorite sushi spot.”
“Got here just in time before they take last orders, specifically coming for the "couples" meal set, and it's huge! You'll definitely be leaving with a box after two big bowls of noodles and a massive mound of the sweet and sour chicken (or alternative option). Nice lady serving. Everything was great and well worth the extra little drive up to Browns Bay”
“We’ve had the pleasure of dining at Gochu for the 5th time, and it never disappoints! Every visit has been an amazing experience, with consistently delicious food and excellent service. This time, we tried the Restaurant of the Month menu, and it was absolutely worth it and a bomb- such great value and packed with flavour. Huge kudos to the chefs, especially Chef Rhea, for creating such memorable dishes. Gochu is definitely one of our favourite places to dine!”
“Attentive and friendly. Great hotpot with decent selection of veges and meats. They also do deep fried food which blew me away. The deep fried pork and brown sugar rice cake were so good!”
“I can see this being a real local charmer, the staff at the counter recognise its frequent visitors meaning they've got a reputation in the community, for me i ordered a delightful cured salmon and beetroot salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. We also ordered a creamy mushroom and that was devine, I'd recommend it”
“Mine and hub’s favourite local spot for fish and chips and especially chicken nibbles. The chicken nibbles have a tasty marinade in a crunchy batter. They’re so juicy and just friggin delish!”
