We visited this morning for brunch and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The service was almost non-existent — we had to ask for basic things like cutlery and even a bottle of water. Our coffee arrived cold. The Nanban fried chicken was actually good, but my husband ordered the Turkish eggs (Çılbir) which was extremely spicy. When we informed the staff, there was no offer to replace the dish or address the issue at all. We are Indian and used to spice, so if it was too spicy for us, it would likely be overwhelming for most Kiwis. We also ordered extra sourdough bread and were charged $7 for just two slices, which arrived without butter. When we asked for butter, the response was “we thought you were going to eat it with the Turkish eggs,” which is not a valid excuse for not serving butter with bread. Overall, very poor service and lack of attention to customers. Quite disappointing given the reputation of the place.

Came here kinda casually, ended up sitting longer than planned proper brunch vibes, especially the avo toast situation Portions are decent, flavours are clean, nothing too crazy but everything makes sense. Coffee does the job The vibe is chill, lots of people chatting, feels like one of those local spots people keep coming back to. That said, when it gets busy, service can feel a bit stretched like a bit slower and less attentive Atmosphere’s nice overall but also kinda depends on the crowd and time you come definitely a reliable brunch spot. Would come back if I’m nearby or meeting friends, just wouldn’t rush across town for it

Delicious eggs on sourdough. Just perfect and great value. I couldn't stop looking at the cabinet food though - wow!! It all looks absolutely amazing, delicious and wish I could have come back for morning tea... and lunch... and afternoon tea! Everything was wonderfully presented as well. What a great spot!

Best pancakes (hotcakes) ever. Haven’t come across anywhere that is better, quality and presentation. Haven’t gotten to the rest of the menu yet… coffee is good to. Have been back and had more food, inc big breakfast - adding more photos.

Couple for breakfast. I got Rudies Big Breakfast - was great and very filling. Cooked perfectly. Hubby got eggs and bacon (allergies) and he enjoyed his meal as well. No sugar-free drinks options. I ordered a pot of tea and had to ask about Milk (it wasn’t provided). Our meal was great and we had good service. But did watch kitchen & wait staff, touch their hair and carry on cooking / serving food without washing their hands. Front of house staff kept shooing the birds out (she was doing a great job but it was distracting). When we visited (Sunday morning) it was quiet but assumed the rain was putting people off. Cabinet food was amazing!!

Love the fit out at Rude Boy, which gives the place a great atmosphere. Their cabinet slices are some of the best you’ll find, however I did find the service to be really slow and had to wait close to 15 minutes for what was meant to be a quick coffee on the run. It might be best suited for a dine in situ! Hamish Dorrington Kakapo Business Sales

Nice menu. Decent sized portions. Great dessert/cake selection. Go hungry or go home! Recommended.

I was really excited to try Rude Boy Deli & Eatery, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The cafe is conveniently located near City Works Depot, so there is ample parking and a short walk to the cafe. The ambiance is welcoming with well-lit spaces and a variety of seating options. The menu at Rude Boy Deli & Eatery is extensive, offering made-to-order dishes as well as a wide range of cabinet items including desserts, pastries, noodles, sandwiches, and more. I ordered the hot dog, and while the presentation was lovely, the taste fell short. The bun was too hard, making it difficult to bite into, and the hot dog itself was tough and hard to pull apart. I only ate half of it there and ended up discarding the rest at home, which was disappointing considering the price of $26 for a "gourmet" hot dog. My partner had the Creamy Mushrooms, which was average and left him unsatisfied. Another person in our group ordered noodles from the cabinet but received them in a chipped bowl. It was a bit of a letdown. Although the serving sizes were decent, the lack of flavor was a disappointment that the portion sizes couldn't compensate for. The restaurant wasn't very busy that morning, so there was no justification for the subpar taste of the food. I believe this place has potential but definitely needs to do more taste testing. I do want to mention that the service we received from the wait staff was great. Perhaps it was just an off day in the kitchen. However, considering the numerous cafe dining options available in Auckland Central, I won't be rushing back to Rude Boy Deli & Eatery.

Very tasty and fresh, high quality ingredients and nice atmosphere. Many many dessert options as well! Contrary to what some of the other reviews say, I found the staff to be helpful and nice. Overall, good brunch spot!
