A wonderful Turkish influenced cafe. The Baklava latte was spot on. Paired with chilli scrambled eggs worked well with flavours. Loved the whipped feta beetroot that came with the smashed avocado. They also have a separate kids menu. Our table host Ted was pleasant and gave us a good experience. Beautiful morning wonderfully plated food. Even the butter on toast had a special wrap.

I was so pleasantly surprised with just how good this cafe is, we were a large group but food came out quickly and the portions were so generous most couldn’t finish their meals, I got mine to takeaway and had it for dinner. I got the Korean fried rice with chicken and poached eggs, it was so filling and absolutely delicious and spicy. The avo smash and Turkish eggs dish were also looked good and I had food envy there haha I highly recommend this place and will be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Food Snob ★★☆☆☆
After having ordered breakfast at Dear Jervois this morning I can confirm that where this place thrives is its location. Food wise, no. The eggs came watery and unevenly cooked, lacking the necessary flavour and seasonings that many cafes of a similar price point perform well at. The salmon was an add on but I can’t fault them on how much they generously put on my plate. The avocado… well the parts that were ripe and not hard were good, definitely required me to use my work as a smasher which again for the price point… The smoothie was alright, lacks concrete flavor don’t recommend. Did enjoy the flat white (not pictured). Otherwise I can’t recommend this cafe.

Decent brunch spot in Herne Bay! Busy for good reason and we enjoyed the food; the staff were also lovely. Heads up about the iced strawberry matcha latte in case it helps anyone: it was nice, but very sweet from the strawberry syrup and overall tasted like cinnamon (which is admittedly a frequent letdown not exclusive to this place). If that sounds like your kind of thing, absolutely go for it, it was still good — just wasn't my personal preference!

My absolute favourite brunch place to go!! It has the best avocado and eggs on toast and the flavours are amazing!! It’s such good quality and the staff are all so friendly. Service is quick and literally so many options. I also got the matcha latte which was really well done too.

Best breaky spot in the Ponsonby area! I normally struggle to look past the DJ Complete but I went with the Eggs Benedict today and it was equally delicious. The service is always top-tier and it’s a really nice space with indoor seating and some outdoor tables with heaters. Will be back for more soon! Hamish Dorrington Kakapo Business Sales

Recommend the Eggs Benedict! Classic dish completed perfectly with the Hollandaise sauce being perfect, served with sour dough and a rosti. The service was great and we came exactly at opening time and there were plenty of seats. Atmosphere was great with little touches of decorations throughout the place. I can see why it is such a popular spot IN Herne Bay!

drinks: spirulina smoothie was nice but had too much apple juice for my taste the macchiato was very good with a strong taste of coffee. food: the kimchi fried rice was very nice with a great amount kimchi sauce in the rice which was a perfect amount. the egg was a great addition of flavour with its yolk. the chicken was nice but was precooked which made it taste like it was frozen.(if you know what i mean) the scrambled eggs was kind of average. their “cruesli” was actually very flavourful with a very powerful coconut flavour, though there was a lot of crunch to it which some people may not like but i did. service: because it was a busy sunday morning, i understand the waiting time. the staff were very nice and were helpful. smoothie:7/10 macchiato:8/10 fried rice:9/10 eggs:6/10 “cruesli”:8/10 service:7.5/10 overall: 8/10

Stumbled upon this place while staying a few nights in Auckland. Great coffee, great food, great service. My 6 year old said they were the best pancakes he had ever eaten. Would highly recommend.
