Incredible!! Olivia served us and she was amazing. Took our order at the table, checked back in with us, very friendly and knowledgeable. Best meal we’ve had in Aotearoa thus far, and my partner said that he hasn’t had an udon that good since he visited Japan (and we eat a lot of udon/ramen etc dishes). Thank you! We will be back ❀️

Absolutely love this place! Hands down the most authentic Japanese feed you’ll find in Wellington. I’m down in Welly every couple of months and Miyabi’s always a must-do for me, never disappoints. The food’s top-notch, and the service is just as good. Olivia’s been awesome every time β€” absolute legend. Cheers team, keep it up!

We visited this restaurant hoping to enjoy a nice tonkatsu, especially after seeing a photo from a review posted a year ago that showed a traditional Japanese-style pork cutlet. Unfortunately, what we received was quite different. The tonkatsu we were served was very tough, and the sauce was overly sweet. My child ended up eating just a little bit of plain rice. The unagi set meal had such a strong fishy smell that it was inedible. The sauces in the tonkatsu, unagi set, and teriyaki steak set all tasted basically the same, which made the overall flavour very disappointing. The food was so poor in quality that we couldn’t even finish half of it and had to leave. To be fair, the staff were extremely friendly and kind, but the food was such a letdown that we won’t be coming back.

Excellent Japanese restaurant! Secluded and peaceful, nice wooden tables and quiet setting, perfect for a peaceful end to a busy day. I loved their alcohol selection with many Japanese specialties. Their sashimi was exquisite and tempura perfectly crisp and light, went very well with the sauce. Their steak don was tender and easy to eat, and their octopus balls had nice chunks in them. We thoroughly enjoyed this for our anniversary, would love to come back in the near future! Highly recommend for a more peaceful Japanese dining experience in Wellington. Keep it up!

I loved this place so much I came back during my 2 night stay in the city. Everything I had was amazing. The fish was ridiculously fresh. The service was friendly, and the place was nicely decorated with a calm atmosphere.

As a chef, the food at Miyabi was very good I have to say. I can taste that their fish was so fresh! Very authentic Japanese food cuz I was living in Japan for many years. Their renovation and decoration style made me comfy and service was friendly but if you looking for a fancy fine dinning atmosphere, maybe here’s not a good choice. Their portion size was decent and well priced. Definitely will come back again for a real Japanese meal!

Been 4 times now. Friendly staff. Nicely decorated restaurant. Favorite dish would have to be katsudon one of the best Japanese dishs I have had. Also the teriyaki beef. Their teriyaki sauce is the best I've ever had.

I ordered octopus balls, teriyaki chicken set and a small jug of sake for lunch. The food was so amazing and the portion was very generous! Another thing to impress me is that after I ordered sake, the waitress brought a tray of sake cups to let me to choose the sake cup and all sake cup looks like works of art!!! Definitely will come back and highly recommend this gem restaurant to everyone!!!

The food at Miyabi was simply outstanding. Every dish we ordered was expertly prepared with the freshest ingredients and cooked to perfection. The tempura was particularly impressive, with a beautiful presentation that was as pleasing to the eye. Olivia is an asset to the restaurant, She was knowledgeable about the menu, and offered great suggestions that suited our preferences perfectly, and really helped to make our visit special. Miyabi's Olivia Shines!
