“My favourite Indian restaurant. Curry is always flavoursome, crispy naan bread. Highly recommend the Vindaloo or Tikka Masala!”
“Lovely staff, absolutely delicious food! Garlic naan is the best around. Was a great dinner spot for our toastmasters group:)”
“I don’t think I’ve ever posted a google review - Every single meal I have ever gotten from here has been divine. Curries are beautiful, biryani is amazing, naans are perfect. Not once have I been disappointed. Big ups.”
“Absolutely delish! Our favourite Indian in the whole of Wellington! Great vegan menu for any alternative eaters out there”
“In reality 4 stars but I will give 5 as it's clear they really try and improve. Great ambience, friendly staff and lunch special on a public holiday was the best value meal we've had all weekend in the overpriced Wellington CBD. Curry was good but flavour seemed slightly watered down, can't tell why exactly. Also, asking about spiciness would be nice. Else portion size generous and overall experience good.”
“Best food i have ever had , specially malai kofta is yum. Can’t wait to have that again.”
“Great food nice ambience and amazing Nepali cuisine. We had American Chopsuey Cilli chicken momo's and thakali khana set with goat curry. The taste was spot on and different flavours than what we have so far.”
“Bikaner has made an impressive leap forward since my last visit. The food quality, presentation, and service have all noticeably improved. The expanded menu offers a great mix of authentic flavours and innovative new dishes. The atmosphere feels more welcoming and refined, making it a truly enjoyable dining experience. Their revamped website also deserves a mention — clean design, smooth navigation, and an excellent user interface. It’s clear Bikaner has stepped up its game and set a higher standard for Indian dining in the area.”
“Amazing!!! Best butter chicken in New Zealand and most flavourful vindaloo! However if you are looking for something really spicy and eat a lot of spice the hottest option may not be too hot! We loved that rice is in the cost of the dish and didn’t order seperate. Really busy so recommend booking ahead! Amazing for group events or families as wide range of options but not too many you can’t choose. Choice of spice levels allows you to adjust to how you like! Overall will be back it’s amazing!”
“Love this place. Quick and accessible Indian food that is delicious, in a setting that makes you feel like you’re eating chaat in India. Usually plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. I highly recommend the Chole Bhatura and the Samosas.”
“Thank you very much for a beautiful takeaway Lamb Madras. This was my first time visiting, but you can expect me again. Friendly, polite staff; reasonable prices; and the food was an ~8.5/10 (for me). Meat was very tender and flavours full, level of spice and salting just right. Restaurant space appears simple but quite cute, would happily eat in. Cheers”
“Thank you to the lovely man who despite the shop getting ready to close, ensured I had a freshly heated nann bread from the back despite the last one being on the heated plate. His thoughtfulness was immensely appreciated. Thank you and the meal was delicious.”
“Honestly, when you think byo you think yeah it’ll be alright, BUT THIS PLACE. Yum. This place was a vibe, food unreal, atmosphere impeccable and customer service … find me somewhere better, because you can’t… they were amazing :) 10/10 experience”
“Extensive selection of spices. Good location and friendly staff. This is a grocery, not a restaurant.”
“Beautiful Paneer Tikka Masala. Garlic Naan a must have. Service with smile is the added cherry on top.”
“I visited taste hut yesterday, tried vegetarian curry, it’s was so good, have various options for vegetarians which is good.”
“Awesome portions! I don’t get why there’s so many negative comments, but this shop sells a very large portion of a dish and it’s very flavourful. Honestly, for NZ$25, I got a very huge portion of rice that was packed with flavour and a good amount of yoghurt to go with chicken nasi briyani. A free jug of plain water was served and the tables were clean. Although there is only takeaway option, He saw that I was solo travelling and allowed me to dine in. The owner is very welcoming and humble man. Coming from an Asian country, I approve of his dishes and the flavours and the portion along with the reasonable pricing .”
“When dining in, the curry is still served in takeaway container. I appreciate this as that means that you are getting the same amount that you would get if you had ordered takeaway. At other indian places nearby you choose to dine in and receive about 1/2 less curry than if you chose takeaway for the same price... This place is different. The lamb korma had an excellent flavor that other places lacked. Food was hot, flavourful and well presented overall a 5/5.”
