Ordered on Delivereasy, food was burnt and did not taste good. Got the butter chicken, would not recommend

It was mine and my partners one year anniversary today , we had driven past this restaurant randomly looking for a place to eat dinner , originally we were gonna go to the one next to it which was a pizza restaurant , but we had smelled the yum curry that was being made so we decided to go there instead, I had to say overall the guy was very polite and kind , the most kindest restaurant owner I've ever met , it felt welcoming and we threw a little jokes here and there, I had the chefs dumplings and my partner had gotten the chicken tikka masla, we had ordered 1 garlic naan bread and 1 mango lasi, the garlic bread was so BUSSIN, bestest Garlic Naan bread I've ever had tbh , it was soft and so so packed with flavours with even cooked garlic on top of it, our mains were very good and the rice that came with it was fluffy! , We got full to early from eating to quick so we had leftovers and the owner had containers for us aswell as a bag , overall experience it was a 10/10 MUST GO THERE, I honestly disagree with all the reviews , but it may have been different a couple years ago . Very cheap aswell , our total came up to $65 for 2 people !! .

Awesome portions! I don’t get why there’s so many negative comments, but this shop sells a very large portion of a dish and it’s very flavourful. Honestly, for NZ$25, I got a very huge portion of rice that was packed with flavour and a good amount of yoghurt to go with chicken nasi briyani. A free jug of plain water was served and the tables were clean. Although there is only takeaway option, He saw that I was solo travelling and allowed me to dine in. The owner is very welcoming and humble man. Coming from an Asian country, I approve of his dishes and the flavours and the portion along with the reasonable pricing .

I've only recently looked at the reviews and have to say I'm surprised. Of the 5 times I've ordered, I have noted nothing except incredible quality and punctuality. The best onion bhaji ever. The peshwari naan is filling and balanced. 5 stars, for all 5 orders.

I never post reviews of anything, but in this case I felt it was a necessary exception. My partner and I have ordered from Mughlai a few times, always a bit bland but they delivered at all kinds of hours so still somewhat worth it. Tonight, however, we ordered the lamb chef's special and it arrived with nearly every bit of meat full of big chunks of bone (half ribs, knuckles, chunks of gristle etc), with small, sharp bone shrapnel strewn through the rest of the meal. For clarification too, we've ordered the same meal before and it was completely boneless, this isn't part of the recipe. This time though, we had to pick through with our hands to even try to remove the worst of it, while still nearly shattering teeth on what slipped under the radar... After all that was done, we were finally excited to stuff in to a hot meal but it turned out the curries were, without exaggeration, almost on par with eating salt with a spoon and completely inedible. I'm pretty lenient with mistakes/underwhelming service but this time around I genuinely think I won't ever return to a place.

Edit: Decided to give this place another go - terrible decision! The pakoras were burnt and soaked in oil (along with the packaging). I asked for the curry (apparently very popular) to be mild and it was way too spicy and had no flavour. Consistently terrible food. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else.

We’ve had good curry from Mughlai in the past but tonight’s take away experience was very disappointing. They hadn’t even started on our order by the time we arrived at the appointed pickup time. They refused an extra naan for the inconvenience. They then rushed the order and we ended up with poor tasting watery curry. It’s been a while since we’ve ordered here but given tonight’s experience I’m not likely to go back.
