Very rude person. I am giving this restaurant one star solely because of the behaviour of the manager. A family member of mine was treated in a dismissive and rude manner, with no basic courtesy or respect. There was no attempt to listen, de-escalate, or handle the situation professionally, just unnecessary attitude. Mistakes or misunderstandings can happen anywhere, but how staff respond is what defines a place. Unfortunately, the manager’s behaviour completely overshadowed any positives and made our visit uncomfortable and upsetting. Hospitality is about respect. This experience showed a complete lack of it. We will not be returning and urge others to not dine there as well if you want a good dining experience.

Editing to respond to owners reply, as there was no option to reply - Hi, thanks for responding. Just to clarify — my concern was never about paying for the box. It was about transparency and how the information was disclosed. I asked three times whether the box weight had been deducted, and only after repeated questioning was I told there would be a $1.50 charge, which then appeared under miscellaneous on the receipt. At no point was this explained upfront. Saying “this is the way we operate” without clarifying the cost is not the same as giving a clear option. If I had been told the box would be charged separately right from the start — or that there was a plastic container alternative — there would have been no issue at all. I’m simply asking for transparent communication so customers know exactly what they’re paying for. That’s not distorting facts; that’s stating what happened. I hope this feedback helps improve the process going forward. Reply ends, original feedback below: I had popped in to get some sweets. An elderly gentleman weighed them for me, but he also included the weight of the box in the total. When I asked whether he had deducted the weight of the box, he said, “This is the way we operate” (translation: Humara system aisa hi hai). I understand the box isn’t very heavy, and I don’t mind paying for it—but not at the same rate as the sweets. Come on, you can do better. Be transparent and don’t cheat your customers. We were a frequent visitor to this restaurant but then we realized that they deliberately reduce quantity of vegetables in thali if you order nan/roti as an extra. I beleive that is a corrupt practice. I would expect consistency and professionalism. Sweets are good and food is average. Manager is over-smart and rest of the staff is awesome.

Bikaner has made an impressive leap forward since my last visit. The food quality, presentation, and service have all noticeably improved. The expanded menu offers a great mix of authentic flavours and innovative new dishes. The atmosphere feels more welcoming and refined, making it a truly enjoyable dining experience. Their revamped website also deserves a mention — clean design, smooth navigation, and an excellent user interface. It’s clear Bikaner has stepped up its game and set a higher standard for Indian dining in the area.

One of the very few places which do late lunch over weekends. Masala dosa was good. The idli & vada not so much. Satisfied the craving. I would err on the side on tea. May be I expected a fresh masala tea over a machine dispensed masala tea.

Excellent vegetarian and vegan Indian food, with a particular focus on street food and sweets. We absolutely LOVE the Samosa Chaat, Aloo Tikki, and Chole Bhatura! Lots of other things still to try.

Regular customer, but disappointed with vadapav, who puts suki Bhaji ( farali potato curry) as a vada of vadapav, other than that good

If you are after vegetarian Indian meals then Bikaner, Petone is one of the best places in town. We usually go there with a group of friends and order a bunch of different items to share and enjoy their thali meals!

The $11.99 lunch has great value for the money. I can’t even finish it and usually have to pack home the rice and some curry. Lucky to have this restaurant near home. Deserts are nice and nutritious too!
