“Excellent food , Excellent customer service Really happy and me and my friend loved the food”
“Amazing experience for our Valentine's Day date! The set menu was excellent value and a stunning range of flavours. Good service and cozy atmosphere. Our only minor constructive feedback is we weren't aware of the set menu until we arrived. It wasn't an issue for us, however being proactively informed beforehand would have been appreciated :-). Thanks for an excellent meal - we'll be back!”
“100% best food, you must try the lamb buns! I fell in love, literally perfection. Such good quality food and amazing service. the lady there is so so sweet. Very yum panikeke.”
“We visited this café twice based on a personal recommendation, and we were blown away. The decor is super fancy, rustic, and vintage. The service is outstanding and very attentive. The café is irresistibly delicious, and breakfast was incredibly tasty. There are also vegan options available. It’s a beautiful location filled with lovely details.”
“Full house for a Tue dinner service (before a sellout show at MFC). Be sure to book! Burrata, flatbread, snapper crudo, gnocchi, wagyu flank, half lamb shoulder (classic they'll hopefully never stop serving), sides of cauli & fries - between 4. All dishes were perfectly on point flavour-wise and generous enough to share. Everyone left satisfied and still recalling the yum hours later. Service was attentive and friendly but unprentious. Unique and broad selection of wines (cocktails a bit slow, but it was busy). Overall a very memorable meal and will for sure continue to recommend to others for special occassions, and return.”
“What a lovely place. We’re passing through Welly and with our ferry delayed we looked for a spot for brekkie, picked the best place. Service so friendly and they were accommodating to our little Maltese girl. Delicious pastry and food in general.”
“Great dinner, very busy inside, food came out quickly and staff very attentive, tried a couple of unusual dishes like the cream cheese wonton. Fully recommend booking to make sure you don’t miss out on this gem!”
“Friend recommended coming here last Thursday, lucky he did, what a great experience. Sat in front of the kitchen so we could watch our food being prepared. Ordered osyters, tomato salad, fried chicken, korean fried rice, beef shin and a couple of deserts. I must say, the fried chicken was definitely the stand out dish with the fried rice coming in 2nd. Chicken was juicy, tender and super crunchy but not oily at all! Too bad it was a special for the night and not on the main menu. Staff are awesome too, they were willing to chat while preping the food, headchef even came to have a bit of a chat with too. Booked a 2nd night for dinner on the spot, but unfortunately couldn't make it. Will definitely be going back.”
“Incredible service and delicious food! All of the staff (especially the woman on the front till) were incredibly energetic, attentive, smiley and friendly. The food here is absolutely phenomenal - in particular, the waffles. For $25, the waffles were a great portion size, presented beautifully and was overall a 10/10 meal. It was like a churro in waffle form - super soft and chewy but still very light with that classic exterior cinnamon sugar crusted crisp that churros have. The plum mascarpone toned down the sweetness, the strawberries were a great addition and the maple syrup was the cherry on top. As I mentioned, the size of the waffles was very generous, and we still managed to finish them all as they were so fluffy and not dense whatsoever. The granola was really delicious and not like many others available in Wellington. Whilst also being presented beautifully, the house-made granola was abundant with chewy oats, sliced nuts, seeds and coconut, and was definitely binded with maple syrup which made it very soft, unlike typical granolas that are crunchy. I really liked this though - definitely one of the best granolas I have ever had. The sweetness was toned down by the greek yoghurt paired nicely with a berry jam, diced nectarine, sliced pear and maple syrup. They also offered milk on a side which was lovely. I did provide feedback to the waitstaff regarding the granola being a very minuscule portion which they very swiftly relayed to the chefs. The staff were very considerate and understanding, and ensured that I left satisfied. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Egmont St. Eatery and I would highly recommend that everyone tries their waffles. They were potentially the best waffles I have ever consumed in my life. I did find the cafe itself a little bit loud due to the music volume and conversing patrons, but that is more just of a personal preference. Awesome work team. I was very blown away with the hospitality you provided. Keep it up!”
“Very hip new wine bar that also does great cocktails. Food is incredible, maybe because it is prepared in the ex-Atlas kitchen, and the wait staff are very attentive. The DJ and pink lighting all make it a cool new place worth checking out!”
“This small and inviting dining space offers an incredible dining experience. They were pretty full by 5:30 but managed to squeeze me in at a bar seat and I’m so thankful they did. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in NZ ever, and I hope to return when I am next through Wellington. It’s not even the type of food I would normally go for, but I’m glad I did. I enjoyed the spiced roasted pork bun to start and the Beef pho. But everyone else’s meals around me also looked fabulous. I almost returned later in the evening to get another helping before I left town, but alas it will have to wait. I highly recommend it. Also the staff were very efficient and helpful, and on their game. The whole time I was there I watched as the prepped twice as many things to-go than they even served in house. Will be back.”
“The surroundings are austere, but the food is outstanding - if you are a meat eater (they also have a wide rage of vegetarian dishes) I would recommend the Brisket, it has a touch of aniseed, and would be my personal favourite if it wasn't for the Spicy Ribs, they make my jaw lock just thinking about them. The Orange Beef is good and the deep fried Squid is to die for. There wouldn't be a food establishment in Wellington or probably NZ where you can get great food and great service for $20 a dish. I recommend you go with a few friends, select a dish each and share - you won't be disappointed.”
“First time at Apaches new location and wow it did not disappoint. The restaurant was buzzing, the staff were amazing and the food is just delicious. The food is fresh, tasty and portions are generous. The bar has a great range of drinks. Highly recommend!!”
“Will definitely come back again! Came here once because my friend recommended and now has become my favorite restaurant in welly. Staffs were friendly and great atmosphere to hang out with friends or family. The seats were almost filled around 20min after they open. Off street parkings are available around too. Love everything we order, especially the gnocchi with prosciutto! 3 people ordered 4 appetizers and a steak, very filling. Also the bacon marmalades on the bone marrow is yum!!”
“Best (home made) curry rolls at any takeaway I've been to. Will keep coming back as owner cares about food taste!”
“Absolutely delish food! Had brunch & cake, so delicious! The eggs Bene was the best I’ve had in a long time! Dubai chocolate brownie was amazing! Service was great, friendly staff, cute spot! Quite loud inside, but would highly recommend!”
“Really good people to talk to and excellent service, the food is perfect everytime I visit, I'm a happy customer”
“The food is outstanding, felt grateful to finally have been able to get to this spot, hidden gem for primo Island food! 100 out of 10!!! This is a takeaway ONLY spot.”
“The coffee and matcha are lovely, and I had a salmon toast that was perfect, with store made grains and nuts bread! The croissants were large and fluffy, we had the plain and the almond. The English muffin breakfast sandwich was delicious. The service was friendly and fast, while they were quite busy. Our large group sat at the only large table, but there is planty of seating inside. They havebread, milk, a few wines, and pottery for sale. Highly recommend!”
“Alright fish and chips, combination fried rice was 5 stars, very friendly lady. Would recommend.”
“Came here to get the wagyu. Tried the bruschetta and it was delicious. The balsamic sauce and the hummus were so good together, tomatoes were fresh, and the bread was tasty as well. My seasonal fruit mojito was super tangy but tasted great. Had some spencer potatoes as well which was a good addition to my main, which was the A5 Kagoshima Wagyu. Literally melted in my mouth, it was super fatty and was so good together try for the first time. For dessert I tried their seasonal fruit sorbet, which was icy, and at the time the sorbet was very tangy, but was good overall. I also got the layered honey cake which was 10/10.”
“Consistently the best Coffee I can find in the CBD. Service is top tier. Food is really good. Atmosphere is great, it’s busy, bustling, and they have an on to it team, who always make you feel welcome. But the star of the show is absolutely the coffee. Recommend.”
“We dropped in for a quick takeaway and as usual it was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. As we waited for our takeaways, a lovely staff handed us a glass of water which is an awesome gesture. We have dined in several times and we never had any negative feedback to provide. Lots on the menu to choose as well as your usual pastries and sweet desserts. Our favourite is the seafood casserole! Very rich and if given the chance, I would lick the bowl! Parking can be tricky as there are only a few on the street and several others by the side. Best to book if you do visit on the weekend or just wait as the turnover is pretty quick.”
“A nice calm place with decent service and delicious food at a reasonable rate. Was the best orange beef I have ever had. Thanks!”
“we absolutely loved this place. it was recommended by a co worker as a meat place, but in my opinion I enjoyed better other things. I enjoyed the tempura oysters and the croquetas , incredible tasty. the dessert was also perfect. The meat was good, but personally I don't enjoy when the put so many sauces to what in where in my opinion the main flavour should be the meat only. In the menu it did say it would have a sauce, but I thought it would be on the side! and they actually put 2 different sauces !! way too much! The environment and service were both up to point and the restaurant had a retro European feel which we loved. We are definitely going back for more , sooner rather than later ! (sauces on the side this time)”
“If you get the chance to visit, it is well worth it. The vegetarian roast was so good! Everything was cooked to perfection and the presentation on the desserts was really great! The staff were really friendly and the service was fast! The decor was beautiful too!”
“We had a very relaxing 3 course meal and drinks at field and greens. Very nice starters mains and dessert along with friendly service made for a great date night. Keep up the great work we will be back!”
“My friend wanted to try Concord out and having perused the menu online (who doesn’t) I was in like Flynn. We shared the pate entree that was delish. The only negative was the chargrilled toast tasted burnt. But the pate was sublime. My friend had the steak sandwich “rocking” was her review. I had the fish. This was outstanding. Cooked to perfection, a flavourful delicate butter sauce and fresh, Al dente asparagus. The best. The ambience was awesome and the service was great. Didn’t get the server’s name but she was a delight. Highly recommend.”
“The service was friendly and the food was fantastic. Beautiful setting next to the harbor. The lamb was superb. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable. They asked about any food allergies and were very helpful in accommodating mine. They brought us a beautiful small, complimentary dessert plate to celebrate our anniversary. The pineapple mess dessert was just ok. Too bitter for my taste, but beautifully presented. The cheesecake is divine.”
“Good service, kind & reasonable prices. Definitely the best in wainuiomata I've had. Recommended to my family”
