Full house for a Tue dinner service (before a sellout show at MFC). Be sure to book! Burrata, flatbread, snapper crudo, gnocchi, wagyu flank, half lamb shoulder (classic they'll hopefully never stop serving), sides of cauli & fries - between 4. All dishes were perfectly on point flavour-wise and generous enough to share. Everyone left satisfied and still recalling the yum hours later. Service was attentive and friendly but unprentious. Unique and broad selection of wines (cocktails a bit slow, but it was busy). Overall a very memorable meal and will for sure continue to recommend to others for special occassions, and return.

Went to Highwater Eatery last Thursday at 6:15 and there was only one other couple dining, which made for a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The space is long and narrow with warm, dim lighting – very cosy. We ordered the dinner rolls, two large plates, a salad, and dessert to share. The standout for me was the ricotta gnocchi with spinach sauce – drenched in rich, cheesy ricotta with gorgeous flavour. That said, the portion was quite small for $40, especially for a vegetarian dish. The half lamb shoulder was also fantastic – juicy, full of flavour, and paired with a beautiful sauce. Dessert was lovely too, with the tamarillo custard alongside the pear and ginger pudding being the highlight. Overall, very well-executed food with great flavours, though on the expensive side. A good spot for a special occasion.

This was my first experience with NZ lamb and wooooow - simply does not disappoint. We also had the gnocchi with sprinkled truffle, flounder, and the natural oysters. Can’t get over how tasty everything was and the lamb!!! Melts in your mouth!! The vibe was also very chill and a perfect place to catch up with friends.

The menu is ever-evolving to reflect seasonal availability, but standout dishes have included organic cruditΓ©s with whipped smoked warehou roe and furikake, snapper crudo, and tender lamb shoulder. For those seeking a comprehensive experience, the chef’s menu comes highly recommended. οΏΌ οΏΌ Highwater’s dedication to sustainability extends beyond the kitchen. The restaurant minimizes waste by composting food scraps and recycling, uses environmentally friendly cleaning products, and offers biodegradable takeaway packaging. They also encourage the use of reusable cups and containers by offering discounts.

Devine. I wish the Yuzu foam on the oysters came as a cocktail! Burratta & permission delicious. Every mouthful of the flounder was scrumptious! But I'd skip the cheese platter.

Very nice lunch, amazingly flavourful. I also appreciated the impeccable service despite being a party of one. The only minor criticism is the wine list by the glass. With all the great wines available in New Zealand it would be nice to have more local choice.
