The service was friendly and the food was fantastic. Beautiful setting next to the harbor. The lamb was superb. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable. They asked about any food allergies and were very helpful in accommodating mine. They brought us a beautiful small, complimentary dessert plate to celebrate our anniversary. The pineapple mess dessert was just ok. Too bitter for my taste, but beautifully presented. The cheesecake is divine.

It’s the first time I’ve visited Shed 5 at Queens Wharf. I selected the Blue Nose dish. It was beautifully complimented with the spanner crab, prawn and coriander smash. Ginger ale is PURE ginger. Definitely understand why they suggest adding the sugar. If you don’t like too sweet, highly recommend to not exclude the sugar to balance the bitterness. Waiters are very attentive and kind. Atmosphere is light. We went just as the restaurant opened so it wasn’t too noisy or busy at the time. Pricing for each drink & dish was expected for a fine dining restaurant.

Was recommended this place by a buddy of mine, talking about how good the seafood was, so I decided after looking at the prices to visit on my birthday. After asking about the fish, I asked the waitress on what should I get for the mains, and decided on the risotto. for the entree i went with the chowder. The chowder was well balanced with none of the seafood crowding out any one component, this was the same with the risotto, there was quite alot of lemon components, but it was so well done that the lemon was not too sour, just a light refreshing note! I genuinely was giggling like a kid after each bite of the risotto, savouring the flavours that was put on that plate. Dessert I went with the cheesecake, and once again, not too heavy, the perfect blend of tangy with the sorbet, and light, fluffy cheesecake with all the indulgence. During the course of the meal, when chatting with the waitress, I did mention it was my birthday (mentioning I wasn't about the fanfare, just a good meal was all I was searching for.) They graciously brought out a small dessert plate with chocolate writing of "happy birthday" on it, no candles, no loud singing, just a lovely "happy birthday" and a dessert, genuinely I could not stop smiling for the rest of the night. p.s. IDK exactly what was on this plate, it was really good though, if i were to hazard a guess a matcha marzipan dessert with cranberries and pistachios, with a apricot crumble on the side good food, good staff, every little thing brought a wonderful smile to my face.

Visited for Valentine’s Day and had an amazing experience! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional- friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, with beautifully presented dishes that showcased great attention to detail. The restaurant’s interior is contemporary and classy, transforming an old warehouse or boat house into an elegant space with tasteful nautical elements, matched with the view of docked boats and the seaside. I couldn’t fault a thing! Menu prices are on the higher side, they are well worth it for the quality and experience.

Fabulous lunch with a glass of wine. Great lovely ambience with beautiful wharf view. Delicious crusty fish cake and the pan fried orange roughy were cooked to perfection, fresh and moist. Enjoyable and relaxed afternoon gazing out from the window. Good friendly service too.

Truly well and disappointed that I chose Shed 5 as my last meal in Welly. First of all, the service really sucked. Our waiter was mellow and struck us as very dispassionate about his job. Our meals - the Fish and Chips and Miso Market Fish - while tasty (but really, I've had better elsewhere), took forever to get served. Not even sorry. I took the liberty to order our dessert earlier to avoid a long wait and this was even before we finished our mains. Mr. Dispassionate took the order and I mentioned that I'd like the service faster hence placing the order early. No dessert came. We asked twice and told that we were in a bit of a hurry. I was so frustrated, I cancelled the order. They were unapologetic. Only mentioned "Yeah your desserts were held back by that table with a large dessert order." That's really beside the point? At least tell me I have to wait long so I can decide better instead of making me wait for nothing?? Very unpleasant experience for a place that was highly recommended.

Great dinner experience at Shed 5. Salmon tartare was nice. Dry-aged beef was excellent.

Lovely room on the water. Mostly good service. Good bread, although you pay for it. Fish and chips was nothing amazing, with the triple cooked chips a bit soggy. The pannacotta had a nice wobble.

This place is fantastic. The food and service are superb. The chowder is the best I’ve ever had and the fish of the day was perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and simply delicious. My wife had the fish and chips and she said it was excellent too there’s a good wine choice and it’s all fairly priced. The staff are well trained and presented. The place has a nice buzz, but it’s also intimate. If you like fish, this takes some beating.

Shed 5, located in the heart of the city, offers a unique dining experience that combines the freshest ingredients with contemporary culinary techniques. The Market fish Crudo, which I ordered as a starter, was a standout dish. The fish was incredibly fresh and perfectly seasoned, making for a truly delicious and satisfying start to the meal. I ordered the Market fish with shrimp zong bao for my main course, which was equally impressive. The flavours were bold and well-balanced, and the shrimp added a nice textural contrast to the dish. The presentation was also noteworthy, with the fish and shrimp arranged in a visually appealing way on the plate. For dessert, I indulged in the decaf Affogato, a delightful combination of espresso and ice cream. The flavours blended together perfectly, providing a satisfying and sweet finish to the meal. While the food was top-notch, the service fell short of my expectations. Our waiter was not particularly attentive and made no apologies for messing up my order. Moreover, when I accidentally knocked a spread over onto the table, the waiter said he would clean it up, but he only did once I asked him to. Given that we had 8 people at our table and spent over $750 on dinner, I expected a higher level of service for the price point. I recommend Shed 5 for the food but be prepared for subpar service.
