“I ordered Mapo Tofu today and some morning tea dishes like barbecued pork and shrimp dumplings. The staff was friendly and the morning tea was delicious. I would give this place five stars. Great experience.”
“Very good service, amazing food and cheap for all family, and couples, best soup and bread ever highly reccomend”
“Great place with a nice menu. loved the tasting platter Especially the coconut crumbed calamari. Our waitress was great nice and charming. Would definitely go again”
“My absolute go to when I’m in Wellington, especially on a Sunday morning for yum Cha after a long weekend of socialising. The owner and staff are so lovely and will take care of your every need.”
“Great food and friendly service. We had sweet and sour pork, Singapore noodles, and chicken fried rice.”
“This restaurant have an all you can eat concept, but you have to pay in advance before you can eat. Take whatever you want and you have to scale the pot on the cashier. You can choose the spiciness levels. As an ✨certified Asian✨, I choose very hot. After that, the staffs will cook your choice. Once it's done, the staff will bring your food the the table. Bowl was very big! Yeah, it was delicious and satisfying!”
“This place has been around for years use to walk past in my teens and use to order takeaways in my younger adult days. Now in my 40s we visited from Christchurch recently and stopped in for dinner, and owner was there and greeted us (swear she hasn’t aged). Food was delicious and plentiful we couldn’t eat it all so took some home. Support your local restaurant and this lovely family from the Hutt”
“Great food! The chicken wings are way better than KFC! Fish and chips are a perfect crisp! Love this takeaway!”
“I used to skip this restaurant because of its low rating, but it completely surprised me — I was wrong! This is my second time trying their dim sum, and I felt compelled to write a review. The portions are generous with plenty of fillings, and everything tastes fresh and absolutely delicious. The salted egg yolk custard bun is a must-try, and the polo char siew bun were tasty. ( Sorry, the photos of the buns weren’t attached.)”
“Great value of my money! The big size can easily feed two ppl. Batter fish is fresh and crunchy. If you want to eat healthy, choose broccoli and pan-fried chicken. If you like spicy, don’t forget the chilly oil which is the game changer.”
“Went here to get Fish and Chips for dinner. I ordered some fish, chips and a hot dog. Everything was cooked perfectly and was not greasy at all. I also really liked how the hot dog came of a stick. Overall I will definitely come back to get fish and chips.”
“A hidden gem right in the heart of the city. You’ll miss it easily as it sits on the 1st floor and only noticeable from the menu and sign board which leads you up a flight of stairs. This place has been around for such a long time and it used to be a haunt with my mates during our uni days which was a couple of decades ago! A great selection of food and they don’t disappoint. What I’m impressed is that the consistency is still the same from day 1 and portion sizing is generous. They have a toilet available but you’ll need a key behind the counter and it comes with a super large keychain! Since nothing much has changed, the place is slightly run down and would definitely benefit from a little makeover.”
“Highly recommend. Our family loves all the dumplings that Oriental Cuisine has to offer. Our favourite would have to be the Siu Mai and I love cooking them for my kids for a quick and easy dinner.”
“My wife and I stumbled upon this restaurant while searching for a lunch spot near my hotel on a Monday. Located in a corner of the food court, up the escalator next to Countdown, it immediately caught my eye. Seeing others confidently head there reassured me of my choice. A friendly staff member introduced us to the menu, and we opted for kimpa and a standard-size bibimbap. The bibimbap, though a short wait, was beautifully presented and delicious—wishing we had ordered the larger size. The kimpa was also excellent. We’ll definitely return next time we’re in Wellington.”
“WOW! I love this little gem, Baos are amazing, the Panda dumplings are some of the best dumplings i’ve ever had and always served with a smile!”
“My favourite place. I visit everytime I come back to Wellington”
“Honestly, this is hands down the best sweet and sour pork I’ve ever eaten! And The staff is also very friendly.”
“It's a take out place. The food was amazing. They are not kidding on the level of Sichuan”
“Best dumplings I've ever had. Noodles are a bit greasy but still delicious and generous portions for the price. Super recommend this place. Friendly staff too. Love it.”
“This place is seriously good and seriously good value for money. Staff are very friendly. And best of all you can get your meal in a real bowl rather than those ubiquitous plastic bowls that seem to be filling up street-food hawkers' shops at present.”
“Had a pork belly and wonton noodle soup. Great dish. Absolute treat on a cold day. And well priced.”
“Our go to for chinese takeaway. We love their Salt Pepper Pork and Wonton Noodle Soup. The owner and staff are always friendly and welcoming.”
“Great dinner, very busy inside, food came out quickly and staff very attentive, tried a couple of unusual dishes like the cream cheese wonton. Fully recommend booking to make sure you don’t miss out on this gem!”
“The surroundings are austere, but the food is outstanding - if you are a meat eater (they also have a wide rage of vegetarian dishes) I would recommend the Brisket, it has a touch of aniseed, and would be my personal favourite if it wasn't for the Spicy Ribs, they make my jaw lock just thinking about them. The Orange Beef is good and the deep fried Squid is to die for. There wouldn't be a food establishment in Wellington or probably NZ where you can get great food and great service for $20 a dish. I recommend you go with a few friends, select a dish each and share - you won't be disappointed.”
“This hot pot is really delicious. There is a very wide variety of dishes.”
