“It takes more than 40 minutes to get the food, but it's worth it :) Bunch of sea food in the burger, so I fee like it is different menu not burger haha but very tasty and unique. Good to try for 2024 wellington on a plate.”
“I really like their Matcha Latte! Soy Milk option for a cost. They also stock a few vegan treats.”
“I've been to most cafés around Wellington City and Petone/Lower Hutt, and Kelburn Café is hands down the most consistently amazing. I order Eggs Benedict everywhere I go, and after 10+ visits here, I've never once had an over—or undercooked egg - the consistency here is outstanding. It is a small café, so when it's busy there can be a short wait for food or coffee, but it's always worth it. The coffee is consistently perfect, and the beans they use are clearly top quality. The café is run by a small team who always serve with a smile, and the atmosphere is amazing. Couldn't recommend them enough - I'll definitely be back regularly.”
“When you hand a late hospital appointment and need that caffeine fix … Open u til 5pm! Bonus Mingle Cafe is a super find with easy parking outside. Fabulous service. Coffee and fresh made pies - hubby well happy!”
“Great tasting coffee and good food at a reasonable price, drop in for a quick breakfast and really enjoyed it. Nice clean well laid out place.”

“I grabbed dinner for takeaway from Li’s Cafe for my birthday. absolutely delicious! The food was packed really well and tasted just like home. Super comforting, full of flavour, and the service was lovely and friendly. Highly recommend if you're after a warm, home-style meal!”
“Trying to find somewhere open early in the weekend is a bit of a mission. But so glad this place was open. Great atmosphere, amazing coffee and the cheese scone was THE BEST!!!”
“All food and drink were tasty; toastie, Swiss roll and latte. Staff member was incredibly friendly and attentive. Prices were okay too, not overly expensive. The daily deals (some in review pictures) would make prices reasonable. Very cute space with lots of fun knick knacks and decor, and even had some pet items for sale. Overall a lovely place and I will definitely be back! Can tell the owners and staff love their cafe and take a lot of pride and joy in what they do :)”
“I order a decaff extra shot, and I haven't been let down. The girls here make a mean coffee. Highly recommend.”
“Great service and friendly staff. One of the best tasting coffees in Lower Hutt.”
“A simple hole in the wall bake shop. Must try their hamburgers with homemade buns & pattie. They also make awesome curries. You can have an excellent lunch with drinks for $10-15.”
“I love my Supreme coffee at Flows. Keriaki makes my coffee exactly the way I like it without me having to ask, always friendly. My daily coffee fix for 3++ years now. Reminds me of Rome.”
“Great coffee and tasty food with super friendly staff. Highly recommend!”
“Great experience everytime I go there. Very friendly, hard working couple. Food is very good, good portions and reasonably priced. Very Impressed with how the food is presented on the dish and tastes great.Love their donuts. Coffee is excellent! Their toddler comes to great us everytime we visit, so cute! Congratulations on baby number 2. Highly recommend!”
“Honestly my favourite coffee place in town, a small owner operated shop that roasts their own coffee (and does an incredibly good job of it). Somehow they manage to have competitive prices too despite not having the scale advantages of the big players.”
“This has become a regular haunt for me. I’m only in the Hutt every few weeks but I make a point of heading here. The coffee is consistently great, the food is awesome and the staff are all absolutely lovely. It’s a quiet little retreat. Sshhhhh... don’t tell anyone!”
“Lovely quiet warm venue. Service and refreshments were excellent.”
“One of the best cafes in Wellington I reckon. Underrated/hidden gem. The service is lovely and the food and coffee is excellent. They do an awesome soup + cheese toastie combo that is epic. They do really good pies, sandwiches and wraps too. Highly recommend.”
“Love popping into Fahrenheit. Staff are great, coffee is always on point and food is delicious. Whether you’re after coffee and a slice or breakfast/lunch definitely check out this cool little cafe.”
“The only place I know that makes Kedgeree, a lovely moist rice dish with smoked fish - it is superb, definitely 5 stars. The photo doesn’t really do it justice. If I lived in Wellington I’d come here all the time. Great coffee too.”
“hiiiiii i saw this cafe on tiktok. i got a french toast and omg they were being generous w the portions but i was able to clear the whole plate. if i were u i’d order 3 bowls of their poached eggs !!!!!!”
“A wonderful birthday lunch at Picnic! I cannot thank Picnic Cafe enough for an absolutely fabulous 70th birthday lunch! It was Wellington on a good day and the roses were in full bloom. This is such a fantastic venue for Welly locals and especially for visitors. The service was outstanding with the manager and his staff graciously, attentively and very efficiently accommodating 26 exuberant family and friends. It worked beautifully for the group that each could select what they wanted for lunch and the atmosphere was relaxed and, well, picnic-y. It couldn't have been better! Highly recommended. Thank you to Paul Lester and J Paul and Picnic! Mary Dec 2025”
“Been coming here for over 10 years. It's a small, family-run cafe that serves fresh, delicious, home-made food. It has a unique vibe all of its own that's homely and unassuming, all in a good, chilled out way. It's by far the best choice of the cafes over this side of Lyall Bay, balancing value and taste perfectly.”

“Have visited this café many times in the past and it's always been good. Their drinks are nice and hot and the cabinet and cooked food is great. I think the scones are especially nice here. I have never had an issue finding a table but it does get popular for business meetings, so if you go around lunch time it may be busy”
“Amazing food and service, everything is perfect.”
