On the plate at Best Sushi, the idea is Japanese‑leaning and well judged. Bento and small plates make for an easy spread. Service stays present without fuss. Meals reach the pass promptly. Pricing lin...
“70 years he dedicated his life trying to feed people he put up with all the negative racism and for that strong man his spring rolls are Devine love the food can't complain”
“Very convenient place to grab a relatively healthy lunch. The 3 dollar miso soup is filling and a great economic option. When eating in, the patrons are usually quiet and so one can have a peaceful lunch.”
“I really appreciate the service today. I had special dietary requirements and the worker went above and beyond with confirming and explaining how they would be able to accommodate my dietary requirements. Very grateful.”
“this place is great. Their $7 chicken on rice bowl (any chicken btw, pretty good) probably makes it the cheapest place to get good quality food in Kapiti. I have tried all of their chicken and I have to say the chili and the teriyaki chicken are the best. I don't have any complaints, 100% recommend.”
“The food was really good. The rice was cooked just right—neither too hard nor too soft. The dish was tasty, well-portioned, and not too greasy. Packaging was clean and tidy,.Very satisfied with this order—five stars!”
“Lovely! first time trying this and the small is a good portion if you dont eat as much!! (Quite a lot for me) !! This other guy was really helpful even though I wasn’t supposed to buy the the lady who served me was kind of intimidating and rude :((( overall i would buy again !”
“Huge shoutout to Alex at Katsubi Westfield St Lukes! His customer service was exceptional. He greeted us with a smile, served us with real enthusiasm, and made sure everything was perfect. It’s rare to see someone so dedicated and genuine. Thank you, Alex you made our day!”
“Ate the beef bulgogi, I enjoyed everything thank you”
“I stopped by to grab some food at the late lunch time. The lady with a smile greeted us. Very helpful and lovely owner or staff. Sushi also tasted good. Not too sweet not dry. Love to visit sometimes. Heaps thanks”
“Don’t know why these guys are ratend 3 Stars as their food is so good the should have their own restaurant!! The stir fry noodles with beef are sooo good! We ask for extra spicy and they just deliver!!”
“Probably the best sushi I’ve had, no jokes. Had a super fresh summer roll type platter, some fried dumplings and all was so good and fresh. Highly recommend over the other sushi in the mall.”
“Easy and quick to buy. I don’t know how the attention is in the place because I bought to go but the flavour was good”
“Umi sushi survived the long COVID and cost of living crisis very well. I have ate delicious sushi food, it is cheap and valuable taste. Well done keep it up”

“Best sushi that I've had in Wellington! And especially great wasabi!”
“Bloody good sushi and the staff are lovely! Conveniently located within the Barrington Mall. Can't fault them”
“Had some nice sushi when I went in there this morning. All items in my picture cost me $19 total.”
“Apart from the Kai being a bit on the warm side, I have to admit it's none the less than expected at a food hall. All the food places at Glenfield have the same problem less LJ's which deep fry on the spot. Seriously though get some mayo in the rice and 3 choice of meats, and you're sorted, I loved it, though it was a nice change from all the other food joints there. Will definitely stop again such a cool wee lunch. 1 star bandits especially those with only 1 or 2 reviews, need to chill out and stop being so psyco just because you can from behind a keyboard, 1 star is for extremely poor, very very bad, this place, is not that. Thanks Katsubi Glenfield see you again next week, glad I stopped in for a change after all these years going to that food hall.”
“Great sushi shop! Went here a few weeks ago just before the shop closed. Worker gave me a great deal and was super friendly. Sushi also tasted amazing. Would highly recommend!”
“Great food (specifically the chicken udon) at a very reasonable price point for the area!”
Oi Sushi in Katikati is a casual takeaway serving cabinet sushi and simple Japanese staples. It’s set up for quick lunches with packs and individual pieces to go.
“St Pierre's is my fav sushi joint in nz. They're everywhere and you always know the standard of food you're getting is good. Unfortunately prices have gone up significantly over the years, but everything has. Gets very busy around lunch time”
“Best Chinese chippy in Dunedin! They also do Kiwi/English food and Indian curries. I gave atmosphere three stats because it's a takeaway. We normally get combo chow mein, chicken curry and chips, sometimes all three! Not wheelchair or mobility scooter accessible, but they will take an order and payment from the door.”
“Family just ordered us Soymate via uber eats and it was all delicious! beautiful presentation, tasty food, generous portions.”
Noodle Canteen runs with a Japanese‑leaning menu and an easy pace. A family‑friendly feel comes through naturally. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy. Broths and noodles keep good heat and snap.
“It can be busy, but if you catch it during a lull it’s a decent pitstop for a snack, been a few times and the dining area’s always clean which is the first thing we always check for when eating out. Had a slight issue with one piece of our sushi, Jennifer was very apologetic and quick to offer a replacement - so nice to see businesses (people) still making an effort to rectify issues quickly & with care, thank you Jennifer!”
“Have been coming for a few years for my usual Chicken Teppanyaki Meal and it usually hits the spot, even though it feels like the portions have shrunk, but yesterday the meal tasted amazing. Everything was fresh made to perfection and the flavors was nek level. A+++”
