“Great japanese experience, had teriyaki don, agadashi tofu and it was amazing, a bit pricey but worth it”
“I've visited this restaurant a couple of times and always meant to write a review but their delicious food just slipped my mind. I had the pleasure of dining there again tonight with my wife and I must say the place consistently meets high standards. The service was excellent and the seating was both nice and comfortable. My children absolutely love the sushi too. Plus, the prices are reasonable, there's plenty of parking and the atmosphere is wonderfully clean. It’s a great spot to enjoy a meal.”
“Absolutely amazing! Emailed a couple of questions before coming and the replies were very quick and helpful. Service was amazing. The food, MY GOD THE FOOD, by far the best lamb dish I've had in wellington. Comes with these onions in a sauce that is just devine. 10/10 will be back again. An amazing experience especially for groups. Also as a note the salad at the start, idk what dressing is on it. But it's amazing !!!!”
“This is as good as it gets. Really good Chinese food. Authentic Chinese and kiwi favourites as well. Nice, friendly service. Bathroom has had a major, much needed upgrade. In fact the whole place has been upgraded. We will definitely be back. From the way that the other customers (four different groups, two Chinese, two kiwi) related to the staff, you could tell that they weren't there their first time. It's a good sign when customers come back. We had the curry chicken, cha shao pork (much bigger dish than in the menu photo), Fu Yong egg (omelette thingy) and stir fried veggies. All delicious.”

“Awesome food and staff were friendly and welcoming. Definitely a recommended restaurant. Love the sea-facing great atmosphere too! Highly recommended the grill prawns :)”
“I had a takeaway dinner tonight, and the food tastes good and very friendly. Especially, I like sushi because it tastes fresh and not greasy. Recently, many sushi restaurants taste like fusion sushi, BUT this restaurant has been in business for a long time in Pukekohe, it tastes traditional and fresh, and I can't get enough of the food even if I eat a lot. The owner is kind and very honest.”
“Excellent food, friendly staff and quick service. One of the best Japanese restaurants I've been to in Auckland. Highly recommended! Only caveat is that it's quite a small venue, so if it can get a little loud. Not an issue for us though!”
“Truly delicious coffee! Also really friendly staff and a nice buzzing atmosphere. It was clear many of the customers were regulars which so testament to the quality and service.”
“A hidden gem. Authentic delicious Japanese food. Excellent service ❤️”
“Loved the food and staff are so nice A big meal affordable”
“The food was bussin, absolutely delicious! The cook's food was bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with care. The bro solo'd it tonight busy with delivery orders and was just overall clutch.”
“overall it was a delightful experience. The food was well worth it—the curries were rich and aromatic, and their stir‑fried dishes were packed with flavour. Portions are generous. The staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful. As a slight note, the indoor seating feels a bit on the cooler side—quiet and calm, but with a chill in the air.”
“Been there 2 times and have had the same brilliant food, service, and atmosphere both times. Highly recomend this place.”

“juicy yet crunchy fried chicken with really decent chips!!”
“We recently dined at Katsura with a group of 12, and it was exceptional from start to finish. The food was absolutely incredible, beautifully presented, full of flavor, and enjoyed by everyone at our table. What truly set the evening apart was the service. The staff were attentive, warm, and professional, and we were especially impressed by one of the waiters who was able to kōrero mai with us. That added touch of cultural connection made the experience even more memorable. I’ve already recommended Katsura to at least five people, and I’ll continue to do so. If you’re looking for a place that delivers high-quality kai and outstanding service, Katsura is a must-visit”
