“Love this place. High quality cakes, pies, savouries and other baked goods. Also a neat wee cafe to have a coffee (which are also great). Always get out birthday cakes here too. Staff are super friendly and really take care of you. Highly recommended.”
“Love there turmeric latte with lemon muffin. Hubby had flat white with a chesse scone.”
“The place has 3 floors with plenty of seating. The rooftop is perfect for some water views and sunshine. The staff are so friendly and they even have some card games to play. The beer is all locally brewed and great! We loved the IPA. The edamame was so unique with miso sauce!!”
“Obsessed with Good Habit! Had the Eggs Benedict with salmon—perfectly runny egg, great flavor. Flat White was smooth and rich. Staff was friendly, vibe was cozy.”
“A peaceful and elegant oasis in the middle of Christchurch. Staffed by sophisticated gentlemen and beautiful women dressed in traditional sarees and the gift shop is like a Christmas tree. Tried their burger, masala chai, chef special and delicious chocolate cake. One of the best meals we’ve had.”
“Fantastic food, Fresh and delicious and the best dim sums you’ll find!! Customer service is top tier, friendly kind and efficient staff every time we go in, always ready to make the food without problem if they don’t have it ready”
On the plate at Under The Red Verandah, the idea is coffee‑and‑cabinet and well judged. Morning service moves at a steady clip. The room sits relaxed with an easy buzz. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy.
Strange Bandit by Luciano leans into a coffee‑and‑cabinet approach without the fuss. Coffee pours are consistent and well textured. Breakfast plates are tidy and satisfying. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy.

“My partner and I came here twice for brunch, the first time we both had granola, fruit, and yoghurt (pictured) and it was really good. The second time we had the zucchini fritters (also pictured) which was amazing and tasty. We also ordered lattes which was a nice, strong hug. The service was also great, the cafe is the busiest place in town but there's no shortage of very friendly staff.”
“Highly recommend!!! Amazing coffee and food. The service is fantastic, friendly and always with a smile. Stop in and support them!!”
Rock-It Kitchen leans into a coffee‑and‑cabinet approach without the fuss. Outdoors works when the weather plays along. Grill work shows a clean sear and rested meats. Eggs land on point and toast keeps its crunch.
“Friendly staff, good food and it's a vibe. Plenty of seating and the food was out in good time. The kids enjoyed coloring in as well.”
The kitchen at Surf Shack Eatery takes a grill‑focused path and lets the food speak. Gluten‑free needs are handled with care. Portions are generous yet well judged. Sides support without crowding the plate.
“Fantastic customer service and a wonderful experience every time my family has visited! More recently, the team went above and beyond by supporting our community through the donation of vouchers for our kindergarten. Huge thanks to Porcia and the team for their generosity and support!”
“We had such a wonderful time at Catfe Mao! The staff are incredibly nice and took the time to tell us the stories behind each cat—you can really tell how much they care for these animals. The place is spotlessly clean, peaceful, and the cats are just adorable. My kids and I were so happy here. Also, a quick shoutout to their milk tea—it’s absolutely delicious! Highly recommend for cat lovers and families.”
“2025: Another dine-in visit to Beaufort & Co in Oteha, and nearly a year later, the experience is still top class. Special mention to Olga—your warm manner and attention to customer care were truly appreciated. When we realised we’d missed out on one of the special doughnuts of the day (caramel gingerbread), Olga kindly arranged with the chef to create some alternative options for our takeaway order, going well above and beyond expectations. Huge thanks to the chef as well for making it happen. Our dine-in meals were served quickly, beautifully presented, and well-balanced in flavour. Portion sizes were just right, and our hot drinks were absolutely delicious. The takeaway packaging is next-level—loved the clear window so you can peek at what's inside. My friend said the scone was one of the yummiest she'd ever had. The doughnuts were rich and satisfying, with a thick cream that held its shape well. My daughter loved her bacon hash croissant and smoked salmon bagel. The pistachio croissant had a dense texture and probably would’ve been even better warmed up at home —something to keep in mind for next time. The “everything” slice was a bit much for our palates, but if you’re into fruit and chocolate combos, it’ll likely hit the spot. Highly recommend Beaufort & Co for both dine-in and takeaway if you're after a treat for the tastebuds. 2024: We just had breakfast at Beaufort & Co, and it was a top-tier experience from start to finish. Tiramisu Dessert Shake – 5/5: Everything we'd hoped for—creamy and subtle, with excellent presentation. The lady finger added a delightful crunchy texture. Passionfruit Spritzer – 5/5: Fresh, tangy, and bursting with real passionfruit flavour. Absolutely delicious. Mochaccino – 5/5: Perfect in flavour, temperature, and presentation. Smoked Salmon Beaufort Benne – 5/5: Faultless. Each ingredient was perfectly cooked and presented. The best Eggs Benedict we've had so far, with a perfect serving size. S'mores Waffles – 5/5: The quality and care put into this dish were evident. The waffles were crispy on the outside, light but moist on the inside. The berry compote was delicious, and the chocolate mascarpone was decadent with a smooth texture. The homemade marshmallow squares with a subtle berry jelly layer at the bottom were the cherry on top—a true chef's kiss. The service was A++, with lovely staff who made us feel welcome. The seating was comfortable, the décor clean and bright, and the music—a mix of classic hits—was the perfect way to start the day. 100% recommend this place! 2023: Amazing quality and tasty food. Excellent set up and presentation. Gets quite busy because of this but booking a table ahead of time will see you seated comfortably without any issues. They have a text line you can pre-order from (check FB) and an excellent takeaway service too.”
“Raw fish on toast was to die for! Fish was fresh, lovely flavour and the bread wasn’t too hard to cut through! Iced latte (not pictured) was also delicious. Excited to try this little spot the next time I’m in Auckland.”
“I recently placed a review for ONE Onehunga after visiting with my wife, for brunch, she had previously been there and had a great experience...I had a less than great meal and service. In reply to that review the asked me to give them another chance..we did today. The difference was night and day, where to start....the tea was fantastic and they had sweetener ( none last time). The big breakfast ( One breakfast) was much improved, seasoned mushroom and tomatoes, great eggs, perfect lightly cooked bacon. The service was quick, polite and professional. Now the small things....there were staff cleaning, not just tables but other surfaces when not busy, fresh flowers on the tables, the owner training the staff in quite periods....very impressive. I am really pleased to have been proven wrong in regard to my previous review and thank you to the owners for their pleasant reply to that review and the conversation I had with one of the owners this morning.”
“Delicious flat whites. They are a coffee speciality shop and always deliver on good coffee. Environment is pleasant to be within. The coffee is a little bit on the expensive side, but worth the money! Will be back :)”
“They had gluten free vegan pancakes which is a big deal and they are AMAZING”
“Great coffee! Amazing selection of food too. Brilliant range of fresh bakery delights including pies, donuts, fresh fruit salads. I had a Brisket, jalapeno mozzarella bap, biscoff donut and custard square with my FW coffee - spectacular!”
“Popped into this very sweet cafe very early in the morning! There are plenty of manly regulars popping in and out and I can see why! They have a solid menu and good vibes.”
“Great coffee, tasty food, happy customers!”
“I had an outstanding experience at this brunch spot! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we ordered was cooked perfectly, and the ingredients tasted high-quality. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly — we felt welcomed from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere is cozy and stylish, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a slow morning. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and the overall vibe is wonderful. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic brunch!”
“Delicious food. Consistently good. Friendly service. Value for money. Generous portions. Love the hollandaise sauce. Great coffee. Our family favourite!”
“Full house for a Tue dinner service (before a sellout show at MFC). Be sure to book! Burrata, flatbread, snapper crudo, gnocchi, wagyu flank, half lamb shoulder (classic they'll hopefully never stop serving), sides of cauli & fries - between 4. All dishes were perfectly on point flavour-wise and generous enough to share. Everyone left satisfied and still recalling the yum hours later. Service was attentive and friendly but unprentious. Unique and broad selection of wines (cocktails a bit slow, but it was busy). Overall a very memorable meal and will for sure continue to recommend to others for special occassions, and return.”
“We were in search of some of Wellington’s best cheese scones! I think this is definitely up there. Soft cheesy goodness heated up in a sandwich press to ensure it doesn’t go soggy/rubbery. You can get a larger one, or smaller ones for slightly less. Absolutely delicious cheese scones, wish I could eat it all over again! Pravda has some serious competition! El porteno also make a delicious hot choco which is a great price!”
“Visiting the city and found an excellent spot for exceptional coffee. On a sunny day, the best place to enjoy it is the outdoor terrace upstairs - quieter, more spacious, and refreshingly open, perfect for a leisurely breakfast and long conversations. The service is warm, welcoming, almost joyous, with staff who appear genuinely enthusiastic, accommodating, and efficient. Though the space is compact, the atmosphere is full of heart. Had a very lovely experience here. Thanks Frank’s and Wellington!”
“The thw scrambled eggs with salmon roe were delightful. The chives, salty pops of the roe paired perfectly with the koulouri (similar to a Greek bagel). This atmosphere was homey yet sophisticated.”
