“Our family's favourite restaurant. Staff are very friendly and food are so yum. Usually no wait and they have plenty to eat. We love Mongolian BBQ.”
“Friendly people fast and cheap and the fish n chips were great”
“Friendly people. Best fresh fish burger I’ve had in years. Super generous size and good price. ( I asked for no tomatoes) hot and crispy goodness”
“I stopped by Gourmet Burger and Brew Kitchen for a quick coffee break and had their latte, priced at $5.50. The coffee was decent, smooth, and well-made, though nothing extraordinary. The ambiance was cozy and casual, making it a good spot for a brief stop. While the latte was a bit on the pricier side for its quality, the overall experience was pleasant enough if you're in the area and looking for a comfortable place to relax for a while. Would come back to try their food, but for just coffee, there might be better options nearby.”
“A much higher end Korean BBQ restaurant that is justified as the entire dining experience is top notch. I was afraid there were no tables available as I hadn't booked but I was warmly welcomed on arrival. The restaurant has a beautiful interior, almost like Victorian style with a large and bright kitchen. Their menu has a range of freshly cut meats and food items and they recently have a summer menu consisting of many cold and marinated seafoods. We got two types of meat and from their seasonal menu we got the crab cold noodles and marinated raw prawns. The bonus to this reataurant is that it's charcoal BBQ. Everything was delicious, especially the seasonal menu. While you are cooking and eating, staff are constantly looking after their customers and will help you grill your meat and changing your BBQ rack for you. The crab cold noodles contain an entire marinated crab with spicy noodles (even though I was expecting crab meat) which was a bit difficult to eat but you can always ask staff to give you a pair of those disposal gloves. This place is a real treat and I appreciate such attentive customer service from staff. The price point would be considered on the higher side but is justified with the high quality of customer serivice and food.”
“The rice noodles are my favourite food! Like the spicy food!!! It’s not only delicious but also not expensive. The service is great! So highly recommended!”
“Ordered $10 hot chips, was a generous amount and everyone loved it.”
“The ambiance here is super sympa and I do love their healthy and fresh food. A strong recommendation for those who want to enjoy a sound and warm dish before departure:)”
“Good number of vegetarian options, which is great. The items we tried were delicious. Friendly owner/operators. Highly recommended and will be back to try more of the vegetarian options.”
“Really great fish and chips. Chips portion was huge and the fish was a big piece with a very crispy and crunchy batter. Like "tell your friends" level fish batter.”
“Delicious food at very reasonable prices. The lady boss is extremely friendly and helpful. I’ve read some comments saying the restaurant wasn’t clean or organized, but in my opinion, the owner has been taking very good care of the place. They took over from the previous restaurant, Love a Duck, which was honestly terrible. Since then, the improvement has been huge. For me, there’s no doubt this is one of the best Asian cuisine spots in the area.”
“Golden Castle (황금성) has undergone changes since its previous name and management, so we decided to visit and see what’s new—and we were pleased with our experience! We booked a table for six on a Friday night, and despite the busy hours, service was quick. The staff were attentive to our requests and questions, and the food arrived promptly—within 10-15 minutes, even during peak time. We mostly ordered large plates to share, and there was plenty to go around. Our go-to dishes did not disappoint: the spicy chilli garlic chicken (깐풍기), sweet and sour pork (탕수육), Jjamppong (짬뽕)—a must-try for seafood and spice lovers—Jangban Jjajang (쟁반짜장), perfect for sharing, especially with guests new to Korean cuisine, and Ohyang Jokbal (오향족발), flavourful five-spice pig’s feet. The portions were generous and satisfying. Whether you’re already a fan of Korean cuisine or looking to try it for the first time, Golden Castle is a solid choice and well worth a visit!”
“Snapper fresh and chips cooked just right. Squid rings crumbed and really light and tender. We have tried a lot of chippies in the area and Tat Sth but this is by far the best”
“Lovely food, been our go too Chinese takeaway for over 30yrs, the best deep fried won tons in the southern hemisphere....”
“Typical Chinese fast food restaurant. Their spicy chicken noodles was delicious. The large portion was really large and could be for sharing. Otherwise, you can eat it alone and be really full. Lamb soup was also tasty. They have fine texture of noodles, which can be substituted by glass or thin noodles. Prices are affordable and very generous servings.”
“Before it was a Takeaway it was a video store in the 90s. We used to go here before and after Intermediate to buy lollies and play video games good times”
“Very nice dinner, it was fresh and chips were perfectly crispy. After reading reviews saying the fish was smelly it made me think that it might not be nice but the snapper we had was good.”
“Flavour House is my favorite Chinese restaurant. The chicken dumplings in Sichuan-style sauce were flavorful and perfectly spiced. The authentic Chinese fried rice was delicious, and the cucumber salad was refreshing. Great food at reasonable prices.”
“Authentic food and huge portions. Went here for a quick lunch and service was really good, didn’t have to wait long at all. The food was full of flavour and once again, the meals were massive. Will definitely go back.”
“The dish is delicious The noodle soup is rich and salty properly done The portion is huge so the noodles start bouncy and chewy and getting sotfer and melting through out the meal The chef is professional and friendly Overall very good experience The price is very good compare to the dish size Highly recommended”
“#Korean restaurant# Small restaurant with great Korean food! Strongly recommend the soups, such as fish roe、beef、pork and tofu. Reasonable price and generous portions.”
“I recently dined at Langkawi Restaurant in Auckland and had an absolutely fantastic experience! The food was bursting with authentic Malaysian flavors, and the service was warm and welcoming. I ordered the **Hainanese Chicken on Rice** and the **Banana Prawn Laksa**, and both dishes were outstanding. The **Hainanese Chicken on Rice** was a standout – the chicken was incredibly tender and juicy, perfectly paired with fragrant rice cooked in chicken broth. The accompanying sauces (ginger, chili, and soy) added layers of flavor that made every bite a delight. It’s a simple dish, but Langkawi executed it flawlessly. The **Banana Prawn Laksa** was equally impressive. The broth was rich, creamy, and packed with a beautiful balance of spicy, sweet, and tangy flavors. The prawns were fresh and succulent, and the noodles had the perfect texture. Every spoonful was a comforting explosion of taste – it’s easily one of the best laksas I’ve had in Auckland. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was thoughtful, making the meal feel special. The restaurant itself has a cozy, inviting atmosphere, and the staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall great experience. If you’re craving authentic Malaysian cuisine, Langkawi is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return and try more dishes from their menu. Highly recommend the Hainanese Chicken and Banana Prawn Laksa – you won’t be disappointed!”
“Stopped in for their lunch special and had the most delicious butter chicken, rice and naan. Staff are lovely, restaurant is clean and tidy. I highly recommend their lunch special as value for money and great taste.”
“Was there for 21st Enjoyed that I could dit down at a table”
“Delicious Malaysian cuisine. We’ve been enjoying it for 15 years and still visit often — it’s real home-style cooking. Our whole family loves it, and it has truly become our go-to family restaurant.”
“The restaurant has been renovated and looks a lot modern. We ordered the Deep fried dough sticks with soy bean milk, Changsha stinky Tofu, Taiwan braised beef noodles, Spiced noodle with spicy beef and Saliva chicken. All very tasty and great value. The only downside for this area is the lack of parking”
“Very tasty food and we were both enjoying our dining experience. Will go back to try the buffet next time .”
“The roast duck is the best in the town, and i also like the “wok hey”of the beef noodles. The staff over there are very friendly too, highly recommended!”
“Very kind staff, gave me a heads up and a apology for the short amount of wait time. Also gave me free chips? Unheard of, definitely the best pizza hut in the shore.”
“Their pizzas are always fresh, loaded with toppings, and full of bold flavour.”
