   initially we came for the Vietnamese restaurant next door, but then we saw this restaurant is full of people and it’s mostly Korean people which we thought must be authentic. We ordered the set menu, big portion, great pricing and delicious food! Service was very good too, the place is clean and there’s plenty of car parks.

   Golden Castle (황금성) has undergone changes since its previous name and management, so we decided to visit and see what’s new—and we were pleased with our experience! We booked a table for six on a Friday night, and despite the busy hours, service was quick. The staff were attentive to our requests and questions, and the food arrived promptly—within 10-15 minutes, even during peak time. We mostly ordered large plates to share, and there was plenty to go around. Our go-to dishes did not disappoint: the spicy chilli garlic chicken (깐풍기), sweet and sour pork (탕수육), Jjamppong (짬뽕)—a must-try for seafood and spice lovers—Jangban Jjajang (쟁반짜장), perfect for sharing, especially with guests new to Korean cuisine, and Ohyang Jokbal (오향족발), flavourful five-spice pig’s feet. The portions were generous and satisfying. Whether you’re already a fan of Korean cuisine or looking to try it for the first time, Golden Castle is a solid choice and well worth a visit!

   First time having a dinner here. Order several dishes to share with my family. Taste great, good portion, parking friendly. Booking is necessary to ensure the seats because the shop becomes full in the prime time. My recommendations here are dumplings, seafood nurungji, jaengbanjjajang, yangjangpi, jjambbong and any fried dishes!!!

   Jjajangmyeon tasted a little different, maybe due to new owners/chefs? Not as good as before... Tangsuyuk was good as usual, very generous with the sauce. Tried out the samsenulmyeon noodle soup and it came with heaps of ingredients!

   Seems that they are currently under new management. All the cutleries get changed to new ones, which is very pleasant. Most menus taste still good and the fried rice gets even better.

   This place has a wide range of korean chinese food. We had gan jjajang and seafood udon. Both very generous serving size and priced reasonably. There are no set menus like other korean Chinese restaurants around Auckland. So ordering individual menu seems relatively pricy. Restaurant is very clean. There were very little customers inside when we visited. Service was quick and attentive.
